Builds, launches, whatever else you have on tap.

I made this quilt for the hospice that my father in law was for his last days. Custom top and stitch patterns, based on a NASA flight picture.

That is incredible! Very well done, and looks just like a launch.

Thats awesome. Nice work. You say your making this for hospice, do they have a building it will be displayed in or is it for someone to use ? My brother and my Dad had hospice help also. Well, so did my Mom too, as they helped her in caring for my Dad in his last days. As far as what Im going to do for the anniversary, IDK. Maybe fly my Estes Saturn for the first time ?

Thank you! My father-in-law going into hospice was pretty much a lifesaver for my mother-in-law. I can't say enough good things about those organizations. They said they'd put it up in the lobby for a while, then it goes to a bed. When I asked what kind of quilt they'd like, they asked specifically for quilts that aren't as "girly" and ideally with a patriotic theme because they get a lot of veterans going through. I'm not especially a "wrap myself in the flag" guy, but I thought that astronauts are some of the few universal heroes left.

Built it 2 years ago, to be sure I had it done for the 50th anniversary. I'll fly it at some space/Apollo related events that are interested, and some local club launches of course.

I have another 50th anniversary project I'll announce in a few weeks..... :)
