Not to rain on Tom's parade , Congrats btw. :cool:
I also got my L-1 this weekend @ Varn Ranch. A big shout out to the Tripoli Tampa Crew and of course Rick Waters for all your help. It was my 2nd attempt, as sadly , my 38mm Calisto used for my first attempt has yet to be found, we got a wicked bad thermal and last I saw it - it was headed S/W vertically at about 1500ft till we couldnt see it anymore - on a 24 inch chute :(
So , for my 2nd attempt I decided it a good idea to fly the field this time -(Low ceiling cloudy day)
Smarter not harder , right ? Used a rebuilt Phantom 4000 on a 3gr 29mm CTI H90 . No exact altitude as I popped at the top without even using the C/R :D But roughly 1600ft and recovered without incident -

Right On also! I have been guilty of bringing "spare" rockets to cert attempts, just lucky enough to not have needed them;)

It was a month apart - We are still looking for that darn Calisto - it will turn up ,
Then 2 / L-1 cert flights make my L-2 right :rolleyes::p
I actually started on my L-2 project tonight , a 4 inch MadCow Rogue 54mm , pretty sure Im going to add a section and make it standard DD . We shall see.

Here’s a rather dumb (and unnecessary question), since I got my L1 under a NAR-sanctioned launch and all the rules that apply thereto, and since the TRA and the NAR have reciprocity (at least for L1 and L2). How does one go about getting the TRA membership card showing the L1 certification? Must I contact them with the NAR documentation, or is it facilitated in some probably obvious way unbeknownced to me?

Thanks,
Tom

Just join TRA and send a copy of your NAR card. It really is that simple.
