How do they sell any motors at this totally crazy price? Apogee site..and the rest ,are you kidding me..NUTS!!!!
10 packs would be an average of $6 a pack to send..well I don't want to buy 10 packs.

Plan out your purchases further in advance and get others to order with you as a group to offset the costs. Or order more then three things.

Maybe find a nearby club with vendors who attend their launches?

Hazmat sucks, but there are ways to minimize it. Group orders, buying as many motors as you can in one order, seeing if your local shop or vendor can get them, etc.

Yes, there is ways around paying more in shipping than the price of product . It is kind of a personal thing with me..cuz crazy as it may seem, I love BP E motors. Even with the high chance of a CATO. I have a few rockets ( my design ) that fly on E clusters. I had an E cato in my Maxi Alpha 3 and Estes made good on it. New rocket and a pack of motors. I see that there is bigger single use E motors from quest and Estes now. Might have to design in the future for that type. Another way is to buy them at a hobby shop. Thing is, the closet HS is 2hrs away from where I live in the White Mountains NH.

Hobby Lobby usually has E motors and don’t forget about Ebay...

Wait, I thought "E" motors/reloads were hazmat exempt? Tell me if I'm wrong, I can take it.

I believe the Estes BP E motors require hazmat.

I know that the Aerotech E loads for the 29/40-120 case and single use E's do not.

Does Hobby Lobby ship these motors? If they do, I bet they don't ship them hazmat which they are legally required to do. So beware of ordering them from Hobby Lobby as I believe the buyer is also responsible for items shipped improperly. Maybe you could just have them stamp the box Sumerian cuneiform tablets.

I have one single rocket that wants hazmat motors right now... my upscale Quinstar, which wants F15-0. Unfortunately the local Hobby Lobby stopped carrying them, and now that bird is shelved for the foreseeable future.

Hobby Lobby has been my Toll Booth. I never pass one by without using my 40% off coupon. I have amassed a collection of motors to last me years just in case HL stops carrying them. Even when I visit my dad in Las Vegas, I stop by the HL a few miles away from him and grab some motors.

Stopped company wide or just your local store? Perhaps the manager would do a bulk order for you? Sometimes, they may have some in a warehouse if they discontinued them that they may be able to wrangle up for you if they make a special inquiry.

Well, stopped at my local store at least, and they don't list it on their web site. Probably worth a try to ask them, though, which I'll do next time I stop by there.

RMS 38/240 casing with hazmat free H130w-14 USPS load top.

RMS 24/40 casing bottom with E18W-4 hazmat free load. (Uses D to F reloads just use the orange adapter in an Estes kit)


H130W’s you could have bought with no hazmat. You got ripped.

Estes E12-4

AEROTECH E18w-4. Slightly more punch. A good E12 analog. Hazmat free.

Or get a Aerotech RMS24/40 complete casing and try Pyrobob at Buyrocketmotors.com and get a 3 pack of Aerotech Composite E18W-4 without hazmat fee. I’ve tried both motors in a Conquest just fine.

**** I’m going to rant but you paid almost as much as three Aerotech H130W-14 hazmat free high power motors!!!!!!!!

Scotty, it's a pain, and I feel for you. Don't know how many orders I've cancelled because I couldn't justify the shipping cost, and didn't need any other Haz items.

He’s not stupid. He got ripped off.
He needs one of these RMS 24/40 casings if no hobby store local to dodge hazmat.

I felt that same ripped off way paying hazmat on L1 motors one at a time until I certified when the haz fee exceeds the motor costs.

Rocketry Works has the E30-4T's for $38.79 for three of them.
