After a dismal outcome for all 3 of my football teams, as well as my general disappointment with the NFL, I have decided to turn my attention to baseball. Quite honestly, I do not even know why I ever let baseball get away from me... I loved playing it as a kid, and loved watching it with my mother-n-law for so many years.

Anyhow, I have chosen two teams to follow; The Atlanta Braves, and the Arizona Diamondbacks (D-Backs). Pretty simple really, the Braves are the local team, and I was born and raised in Arizona.

I started the season off by watching the Spring Training games available on the MLB Network over this past weekend, and I am pretty stoked!

Sort off topic; I need a new glove... I just realized that my mostly un-used Wilson glove is stamped Made in China... I have been looking at some Rawlings gloves, but not sure what to get at the moment. Anyone recommend a brand or brands I can go and try on for size?

1-1 on the Diamondbacks and 0-2 for the Braves for the spring training as of Sunday. The Boston Red Socks have been looking good too. My wife has asked that I get her to a Braves game this year.

In spite of being a shadow of the team they were from 2011-2014, I still follow the Tigers regularly. I watched most of their ST game against the Cardinals today. I kind of follow the Astros and Red Sox as well because of their former Detroit players.

On the plus side Detroit has rebuilt a respectable farm system, so the minor league games are more interesting now with quality prospects moving up. Also seeing games in Toledo is a lot less expensive and more convenient for me.

When the Orioles lost Machado or the DBacks lost Goldschmidt, was it was much of a knife to the heart as when the Tigers lost Verlander or JD Martinez? None of them were going all the way with those guys, but it still sucks to see them go.

My Orioles are 2-0 in the preseason! Looking forward to getting out to a few games this year.

Born and raised outside of Baltimore. Grew up in the glory years of Orioles baseball in the 60s and 70s with Boog Powell, Jim Palmer, Brooks Robinson, Andy Etchebaren, Earl Weaver and others. Saw a number of games at the old Memorial Stadium. Been a lot of up and down years, but last year has to be the worst ever. Of course, that can only mean they have to do better this year, right??????

The last time I followed baseball, John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, Bobby Cox, Greg Maddux where house hold names between my wife and I's families (circe mid to late 1990's). There are a whole slew of new names now... Right now all I can pick is a favorite color jersey. Given the length of the season, I hope to latch on to some regulars and learn their names before they get traded away.

I've been watching/listening to mlb.tv spring training games, mostly in the background while doing other stuff. I follow the Yankees, Nationals, and Cubs. The Bluejays might be interesting this year with some good rookies climbing the ranks. But, I'm guessing Machado with the Dodgers will be money down the drain. At least I hope. ;-)

I'm still hoping for a Cubs / Red Sox match up in the World Series. I've been a Cubs fan my whole life and I'd love to see a series play at in those two stadiums.

Me, too! Those guys were my heroes. When I was five, I could name every player on the team, including his number and position.

I still see the Booger every once in awhile at Oriole Park, selling barbecue sandwiches and signing autographs.

Yeah I'll shoutout for the Astros too!

And also the Rocket City Trash Pandas! (or: The team previously kown as the Mobile BayBears)

Being a Yankee fan who was raised in The OLD Stadium (Pre 76 renovation) I hate the BoSox but love Fenway. Love Wrigley (The 1st Wrigley field was not in Chi Town). Back during the "Cookie Cutter" Stadium, when the Yanks were out of it, I rooted for the teams with the most nostalgic ball yards. I live in Dallas and I do not agree with the Rangers "Needing" a new stadium! Now I found out that it will NOT have real grass!!! That venue will never see my shadow!
