I'm talking about the eBay listing.

Meh. Maybe. While I totally understand why many people have a healthy distrust of Ebay and its ilk, it does have certain advantages in how broadly someone can "cast the net" and get the word out to a wide audience. That large a microphone is hard to find anywhere else without spending a lot more money, so while I can understand your hesitancy, I can also completely understand why legitimate vendors would want to post such a thing there.

See blackjack's post above (#31). Apparently he's been trying to sell the business through conventional means for some years now, to no avail. And a successful bidder would have to commit to pay upfront, without a contract, sight unseen. 3 red flags there. At the very least I would have a lawyer research the title and any liens on the business, then I would look at the assets in person and physically inspect them, and draw up a contract. This guy hasn't even posted any pictures other than a few kit face card shots. Thanks, but no thanks.

I agree. You can do better sometimes on TRF, but usually buyers on TRF are more thrifty, some are more knowledgeable, and rarely will you get the premium dollars that you get from the net cast on eBay.

If I were the seller in this case, that would exactly be my expectation. I would be incredibly surprised to actually sell the business on eBay. But, my hope would be that interested buyers, or their legal council, would contact me after seeing the ad and do exactly as you proposed.

And as I proposed originally.. Ebay is the vehicle to get the word out.. cheaply.. to a large audience..

I would argue that the seller is shorting eBay a percentage of the remaining 30K.

Ebay listing is real, no Flags, no coincidence , just somebody finally letting going of a dream they had..
A good amount of stock, Stored properly in very low humidity, I've seen the list, WOW , I stopped counting at the NC's alone.

So yes this is REAL, not sure about Ebay venue.

It has been reported to eBay. By policy, you cannot asked for a side payment in addition to the first payment. You have to sell it fro the full amount.

Sad state of affairs that's been dragging around for years. I used BSD kits for my L1 and L2 and really liked the lineup. Since then, LOC is putting out some really compelling kits with upgraded components, fiberglass kits have really gone common/cheaper/easier (Madcow, Wildman) and there is even canvas tubing through MAC. While I miss BSD, there are better options out available now and I am not sure where this business model would 'fit' in what has to be a small commercial space. Perhaps the BSD soap opera-like saga will end someday...

I have to agree with cwbullits wife, "move along, nothing to see here..."

oops my bad. I didn’t know eBay allowed bidding on a ‘down payment’!?

I have a cloud business for sale, only 1 million rubles... any one want to buy some clouds?
Stare at them long enough and they will look like rockets [any type/brand you wish]
Stare at them even longer and any motor you wish will magically appear.:D

Jim, I bought a cloud a while back from one of your competitors but have been having some issues with it as of late. Can you please help me fix my cloud under their warranty? Seems I stare at them too long and motors don't appear as they originally stated when I purchased it. Funny you claim the same thing. I wonder if there is anything fishy here???

I just don't get why anybody even cares, if their not not buying. This has gotten blown way out of reasonable means. We are a small community and to act this way is unforgivable. Starting to hate this stupid backlash it's petty at best.

"
YOU ARE BIDDING ON THE DOWN PAYMENT DUE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF YOUR WINNING BID AND THAT AMOUNT WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM THE ASKING PRICE OF $30,000 WITH THE BALANCE DUE IN FIVE (5) BUSINESS DAYS UNLESS OTHER ARRANGEMENTS ARE AGREED UPON.
OWNERSHIP WILL NOT BE TRANSFERRED TO YOU UNTIL BSD IS PAID FOR IN FULL. $30,000" is what most are avoiding. The raw materials will get you about 3-5k. The connex may be worth 2K. Most of what you are paying for is the name and kit designs.

What I wonder is if you have to pay intellectual rights to the designers?

On the fusionrocket.biz Facebook page Scott Binder says that they were selling Diablos, Horizons. Thors, and Intrepids up until a few days ago, when they cleared them all out. Yet the eBay pictures show those rocket face cards. So who really owns the kit names and designs?

No to pay intellectual rights to the designers, if your not buying why even care and 3K for part tells me you are lacking a ton of info, Try 200 4" NC and 200 3" NC, even at 10 dollars each , thats 4K just in Nose Cones alone. I think if your not buying or asking the owner about what stock comes with it, your just being a PC pain. I have all doc's, drawings, designs, copy's of all agreements from Scott to Mark to Scott, instruction, decal artworks. I have it all!!! I don't know all the stock, just the highlights. This thread is just a BIG waste of time. It should be removed.

You probably forgot to wear your "rose" colored sunglasses while viewing.
Be sure they are "polarized" for M motors.

Jim, I too bought a cloud form your competitor. My little girl tripped on a mirage, and fell into the cloud. Turns out it was just a big pile of candy floss.

good for her, bad for me..

Thanks for the clarification. I think the thread has value and will continue as long as it remains appropriate.
