I got more done on the replacement Big Daddy (leading edges painted, fins attached, cone painted). I suspect this may be the first Big Daddy ever to be assembled with Cotronics epoxy. Hey, use it or lose it.

Flew the above Big Daddy on it's first flight (with chute release). G79. Clear coat for it came in the mail, so that will finish it off. The original version flew probably 50 times or so, so only 49 to go now.

Put a couple of coats of gloss orange on my "Frequent Flyer" in anticipation of the decals arriving from Stickershock23 tomorrow.

In other news, epoxied the motor mount into my L3 rocket -- 4" Fiberglass MadCow DX3XL

I have finished my winter build on that same rocket, that is really a nice kit I think, especially if u got it at sale price.

Got some filler primer onto a Estes Mega Der Red Max I have been procrastinating for a while. It may actually fly soon!

Started work on my 3" Sandhawk today. While I was doing another section of tip to tip glassing on my L3 Sandhawk build, I used some of the epoxy and fiberglass from that project to reinforce the upper 1.5" of the booster airframe. I cut away about half the thickness of the cardboard body tube, and wrapped it in a layer of 4 oz cloth. I also started to assemble the motor mount, and ordered kevlar harnesses for the build from OneBadHawk.

Worked on my new 3D printed scratch build rocket designed for H and I motors. Fincan was designed by me and printed by cwbullet. All other components were designed and 3D printed by me excluding the mailing tubes and recovery system.20190204_233341.jpeg20190204_233517.jpeg20190204_233356.jpeg20190204_233845.jpeg

New toy. Came few days early (checking the web page just now, it still shows as in transit with estimated delivery on Friday).

Its been years since I've touched one, and I was never any damned good at it -- but I've got air in the shop, and rattle cans take up so much space and are such a f*ing waste of resources. So I am going to grit my teeth and figure it out.

Thinking I will build a pistol grip, or some other kind of accessory brace, for it. My right hand precision tripod/pencil grip fatigues pretty rapidly on account of being being a physical wreck with decades of accumulated arm and wrist injuries.

Bernomatic has a forum over at the Cantina:https://forum.starportsagitta.net/viewforum.php?f=53&sid=737c825bf589458f4717977984f60357

For a second, I honestly thought that was a bong.

<smile> I am sure that more than a few have been repurposed for that application. The intersection of users for these two devices used to be pretty large -- at least for those working in the "I think my van needs a wizard AND a unicorn" oeuvre.

Its another industry that has been "disrupted" though. Walking the dog at about 9 this morning, we passed a group of clean and well-turned-out 20-somethings cutting through our neighborhood from the direction of the "creative spaces/coffee shops/dispensaries..." in the old industrial district. 10 or 12 of them, all -- apparently -- heading to the same destination. About half of them had vape pens. All of them appeared to be high (although it is sometimes hard for me to distinguish "baked" from the natural daffiness of a 22 y.o.)

Thx. I'll check it out.
