"Arduino Nano" from Banggod, is it any good?

A nano is a nano is a nano. Open source so everyone and their dog makes them. Try Ebay and buy the cheapest one you can find. I've bought 5 packs here in the states for ten bucks. She's ancient and decrepit, infirm-looking most of the time, when is May going to shrivel up and die already?

I use knock-off Arduino most of the time. They are cheaper and work just as well. Some come with the headers not installed, so I can solder a wire into the hole only if needed.

Yeah, thats a good point.

Nice, I will order one and see how it goes.

The cheap nanos are usually cheap because they use the CH340 USB serial bridge. With windows I don’t believe this is a problem. with macs you need to install the drivers and they’re crappy but tolerable (I get odd kernel panic and very frequent failures to connect or complete transfers). Not sure about Linux.

That’s said, I use the $4 ones all the time. The extra bit of hassle is worth the $15 savings. Have yet to have one fail.

I'm on windows so should be cool. Also feels safer to not spend much on something you are going to put on an amateur rocket hehe.

This week I tried to get some data from a Bosch BMP280 from my arduino and everything seems to be working!!!

Temp: 22.21C
Pressure: 98497.00Pa
Altitude: 238.12m
Humidity: 37%

Which is about right ;) So I would recommend buying it.

Hi,
For my next build, I want to have a flight computer with some sensors. I'm going to get an Arduino nano to start figuring out how to use it.

Banggod sells a nock-off for like 4€ , the real one, is more like 20€.

Both have the same specs, so I was wondering if someone has tried the banggon one, Do you recommend it?

Thanks!
~Nacho
The Nano is my favorite Arduino by far for development purposes. I was going to say don't buy from China and have a potentially long wait, but instead buy on Amazon for the same unit price with free 2-day shipping for Prime members:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0713XK923/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

but I see you're talking Euros. Here's the Amazon UK link to same, but it looks like you need a 20 pound order to get free shipping:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B072BMYZ18/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B015MGHH6Q/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

I don't know what the shipping delay would be for those since I don't know where they're coming from.

I don't know why I mentioned euros! I'm living in the UK so its GBP hehe. The one I got from Banggod ended up costing 4.75GBP, and arrived within 4 days so not bad! For that price (compared with the x2 on Amazon) I would say its worth it.

Did it come from an in-country Banggood warehouse? I've never gotten anything that quickly from China even by the comparatively quick e-Packet shipping method.

BTW, the costs at the provided UK Amazon links with free shipping were for 3 Nano V3s in the first example and 5 in the second, not for single units.

I always order more than one of any electronic module even if I can get by with only one just in case I fry one. I haven't thus far, but you never know, and waiting for a replacement is, in many cases, not a short wait. Also, since I concentrate my buying with Amazon whenever possible unless the price difference is insane, the e-modules found there with good prices and free Prime 2-day shipping are usually for multiples. Finally, Amazon has a fantastic return policy.

Ordered lots of stuff off Banggood. No problems with any of it.
Same here, but with more and more interesting and reasonably priced electronics hobbyist stuff showing up on Amazon, I haven't placed a Banggood order for a long time.

From the EU warehouse yes. I guess that explains the timing.:) To be honest, I really didn't care much, just ordered it and waited, so I didn't notice when it arrived that it was just 3 days.

I see that now! That's a really good deal then! I will probably buy another batch at some point as I would like to have one on my test board all the time.
