I am looking for ideas. What do you all think about making each file posted its own thread and make the repository a list of links to the threads?

Let me explain why: It would be easier to discuss problems of tips printing them without disrupting the repository.

Hmmm. Interesting idea. I do see the issue. On the other hand if the files are posted to Thingverse it might be better to have the printing discussions in the comments sections of each model rather than on this site. They’ll automatically be associated with the right model and will benefit a larger audience than we have here.

Just a thought,

Tony

Does Thingverse allow posting links to other websites?

If so then TRF members could just include a link in their Thingverse description that points to their respective thread here on TRF.

Thingiverse does allow linking to other sites. I started a build thread on Scratch build forum for my 3D printed rocket, and posted it to the Thingiverse thread, and it links back without issue.

Chuck I think your initial idea makes the most sense. We should keep rocketry discussions here on TRF. Of course the ideas discussed are not mutually exclusive so it does not exclude using Thingiverse, which I am and will continue to do so.

Let me explain what I am thinking: Redo the repository that starts with a list of links to threads on your items. Why? It will allow a clean thread that makes it easy to find each item as they are added.

I see the simplicity of it from an administration perspective. Besides nothing is permanent, If a change is needed we will know soon enough and can deal with it then, but until then I like the KISS approach.

Anyone have an qualms to change to a list at the front with a thread for each item?
