Hi,
Currently involved in a Saturn V build. Body tube size is too small for vacform stringer wraps like from Apogee. Any suggestions on how to make some nice looking stringers? I was thinking maybe some Evergreen styrene channel or similar but wanted to see if anyone else had any thoughts.

Thanks

Wow! I would have to say it came out very nice as well. Styrene strip probably will be the move, I don't think I'll be able to find round small enough. Thanks for the help.

These are the dimensions of the full size Saturn V stringers:

Outboard engine fairings on S-IC: 19 1" x 1" L-section stringers, equally spaced.
Aft section S-IC: 128 3" x 3" hat section stringers, equally spaced. There are a few odd-sized hat section stringers near the hold-down post areas, need to double-check dimensions.
S-IC intertank: 108 equally spaced corrugations, made from 18 full length panels
S-IC forward/interstage/S-II aft: 216 2" x 2" hat section stringers, equally spaced
S-II forward: 144 1.3 x 1.625 x 131.42 hat section stringers interspaced with 1.00 sq. x 88.50 I-beam longerons; bottom section of stringers buried in LH2 tank insulation.
S-II/S-IVB interstage: 144 1.2 x 2.162 hat channel stringers, equally spaced
S-IVB-500 aft: 144 x 1.375 hat channel stringers, equally spaced
S-IVB-500 forward: 108 .813 x 1.25 hat channel stringers, equally spaced

Source: David Weeks Saturn V drawings.

Note that any fairings, etc. are not included in the total stringer count.

Stringer count on S-IVB-200 aft: 112 1.00 x 1.375 stringers, equally spaced. Forward section same as S-IVB-500. S-IVB-200 is for the Saturn IB and the mockup S-IVB used on AS-500F.

I've been searching for a link to the Weeks drawings for some time and can't find 1. Anyone know where I can get them?
