About half the time when I try to send photos with Gmail on my Samsung (Android), they just sit in the outbox and never send. The other half of the time they go right through. For instance, tonight I sent four Gmail messages with four photos attached to each. The first one went right through. The other three are stuck in the outbox. Sometimes, if I restart the phone, they will go through, but not always. This is one of those times. This has happened to me on other phones, like my last phone, an LG G5. That leads me to believe it's not the phone. Could it be a Sprint problem? I tried chatting with them, but they're worthless. Any ideas?

You frequently get what you pay for in wireless service and life. When you picked Spring, you did so looking only for the lowest cost plan, didn't you?

Do you "share" photos by email or SMS/MMS?
If the former, it's likely bandwidth issue with your provider / your area / your wireless plan (yes, many are throttled).
Do you get the same problem when connected over WiFi ?

I don't have a problem sending pics from my Canon.

Your Canon is not using licensed wireless spectrum, so the observation is not comparable.

I have the same problem, whether I'm on WiFi or not. I never have a problem sharing photos in text messages, only when I try to email photos to myself.

Then I would suspect your gMail config. Are you using gMail or Samsung email client?

Consider setting up and trying another account with another provider (Yahoo, Hotmail, your own ISP) and see if it works better for you.

HTH,

I would use DropBox for that.

If you are taking photos with your phone, then sending them (to yourself, or someone else) -I wouldn't do it that way.
I would setup a free Dropbox account to automatically save the photos and make them instantly available to you on your laptop or desktop computer. -and since you have a Google (gmail) account, I would also set Google photos to automatically save a copy of all photos you take.

If you need to send or share some photos, do it from dropbox or Google Photos.

If you are trying to send full res photos then, you might be hitting a bandwidth cap put in place by you provider or Gmail. I stopped trying to use e-mail for pics; txt them, it is easier.

I've had the same issue with Gmail on an ATT Iphone. What I've done is select a photo, tell it to email, give an address, push send and then put the phone in my pocket. When the phone goes to sleep maybe it suspends the sending. If I unlock the phone again, go to email, it shows that it is still sending the photo. If I tell it to check for new email it will first complete sending the old email then check for new email. This seems to be what you have to do to nudge it continue with the sending.
