I’m looking for the dimensions of the Cajun upper stage of the Nike Cajun sounding rocket. I have found general dimensions but looking for a technical spec document.

I have looked through quite a few NASA documents and have found the information for the Nike Apache but not the Cajun. The Apache and Cajun are quite similar but wasn’t sure how close they were dimensionally? Any idea where I could locate this information?

Thanks!

Peter Alway's Rockets of the World has the scale dimensions. If you don't have access to a copy I can PM you the dimensions. Don't want to scan it here since it's copyrighted.

The Nike Cajun and Nike Apache are so close that visually they have been called the Nike-Capache. The dimensional differences are extremely small (when scaled), iirc the Cajun and Apache motors only varied by .5" in diameter, of course there were other dimensional differences.

If I recall correctly, the actual Cajun and Apache motors are externally identical. I believe the Deacon had a different casing. Both have a basic 6.5-inch diameter, as I recall, with some larger-diameter bits at the front and rear, and had larger-diameter fin cans.

That said, the payloads varied from flight to flight. There were some standard payloads, and probably some that were used with both upper stages, but there were also individual payloads with different dimensions and paint patterns.
