Looking to purchase an Estes Leviathan Pro Series II. I have been looking with no luck. All the Estes Pro Series rockets are impressive. I really would not want to miss out on owning this kit. Thanks for the consideration. ~Brian

I see one on Ebay every once in a while.

Here is an Open Rocket file for a Leviathan built with LOC components. The LOC nosecone is just a tad longer. They offer tubes with fin slots.

Or to clone the Leviathan using the correct size tube and nose cone:

Balsa Machining Service T300-34 airframe, C300-4 or -6 couplers, CR52H300-W centering rings, and a Estes Big Daddy Nose cone (the BMS PNC-300K will work but it is about 2" longer than the Estes NC). Cut the fins from 1/8" Midwest plywood (available at local hobby shop, Hobby Lobby, Craft Warehouse..etc). The Leviathan is AFAIK the only one of the PSII builders kits (not including the Star Orbiter or Super Big Bertha) that can be cloned accurately using mostly non-Estes parts, the Partizon, Ventris, Sahara, Panavia, and Argent all use oddball size airframe tubing and nose cones only available from Estes.

The slotted, unslotted, and coupler in 3” are all listed as parts on the Estes website. At least for now.

I think I’m on my 4th Big Daddy. Only one built as the kit - the rest for the 3” 3:1 ogive nosecone. And one of those got turned into a boat tail.

There may still be one in the pile that is available at retail price if you are interested. PM me and I will check.

I do the same thing, part out Big Daddy kits for the nose cone, thats what I used for my clone of the Estes PS Patriot.

If you are going the Ebay route, make sure to ask the seller if either of the airframe tubes are damaged. There have been a number of the Leviathan kits (and other PSII) on E-bay recently, and I can see that some of them have a lot of end damage or creases mid-tube. I always ask the seller directly. You will be paying a premium price on E-bay and still ordering the spare parts from Estes if they are damaged. I got a couple sets of the tubes from Estes, and the plywood centering rings and motor tubes from other suppliers. I did find a 3" ogive nose cone at Apogee that fits but it's a little long. AC Supply still has the Big Daddy, which would provide the correct nose cone and I think the fin can tube. You can also get the motor retainers and nylon chutes from AC Supply at a good price. And use 1500 pound Kevlar for the shock cord instead of the elastic. Get a small U-bolt to attach it to the forward centering ring. I am going to clone a couple of these after losing my kit-built one in 8-foot corn.
