Are there any kits with a 38mm mount that would fly low (1000ft or so) on a G? I have a Binder Design Jackhammer but I’d like a little more variety. I have a Loki 38/120 casing.

The 3" LOC IRIS fits that bill, I think. I haven't flown mine yet but they recommend a G80 for minimum. It has a 38mm mount, also.

I built my Estes Scion specifically to fly on 38 mm G and H motors. There are great reloads for the Loki 38-120 case. (My favorite is the G69 Spitfire.) But you are right; there aren’t many kits designed for them.

take a look at the PML 'VHA' series 'black brant Vb' foe example. mine flies quite nicely on a G67.

My PML Quicksilver flew great on a G80. About 7G off the pad with a peak of 1100'. (It also works for an L1 and L2 cert rocket.)

EDIT: I'd guess that just about any of the 54mm thin-walled fiberglass kits would work well too. Madcow makes some great rockets in that size.

My first and only flight of my V2 was on an H100, but the sim file for mine shows it should fly okay on a G:

I’m also flying Loki G’s. I accidentally bought the G70 Cocktail for my Jackhammer and didn’t realize it only goes down to an 8 second as the lowest whereas I needed a 5 or 6, however OpenRocket claims it’ll work on an 8 second delay. Should I trust it? Don’t really want these motors going to waste

I’ve tried searching that site but it’s too complex to find kits for a motor on there

My Loc Forte and Hi-Tech go 800 and 1000' respectively on the 38/120 G67R's.

I find a kit that I’m interested in building first then I go look it up to find the motors it’s compatible with

Would LOC’s 4” V2 be too heavy?

As long as you don't go crazy with the glue. I used to fly mine on F40's all the time. Of course, mine is old enough that it came with the 29mm mmt...
The LOC Goblin would work as well. It comes with a 54mm stock mmt and then adapters to go down to 38 and 29 mm

I have a Loc Volcanite with an avionics bay that would work just fine with those motors. I suggest it as a long skinny cardboard rocket that should would up to mild J motors too.

I think buy rocket motors dot com has the on sale too.

Loki delays are adjustable, use a 1/4" drill bit, and every 1/32" of depth removed ( from the center) is 1 second approximately. Drill into the side facing the propellant not the ejection charge. Do not shorten below what Loki recommends. All AT, Loki, and CTI reloadable motors as well as most AT DMS and LMS motors are adjustable.

I had someone show me how to build the Loki motors and use the CTI delay tool. We both didn't realize the Cocktail only goes down to an 8 second and all the rest of the Loki G's go down to 5 because it has two blue grains and one red grain.
