Onebadhawk - FANTASTIC Customer Service

BIG shout out to Teddy at Onebadhawk harnesses. I presented Teddy with a damaged harness at AIRFest a couple of weeks ago. It was damaged due to my lack of care because I used a bent eye bolt instead of a welded loop. Big NO NO. The harness got caught on the open end of the metal loop and shredded the webbing in the center of the material. The 1" flat Kevlar had plenty of good cross section left to it, and held up to the flight just fine. I flew it for a few subsequent flights as well with no issue. But since it had a weakened spot I paid a visit to the Harness Doctor. Teddy took the harness back to his shop and and stitched in a new section of Kevlar to bridge over the damaged section. I received it last week and it is good as new. Better, actually, since it now has a 4th loop. All of this at NO CHARGE to me. I love the 1" Kevlar and use it (pretty much) exclusively - with a 100% track record. I will continue to use Onebadhawk as long as I fly.

Yup, he lives about 40 minutes from me and had I not been sick this weekend, we would have flown together. So strange to think we used to be members of CATO in CT and now we are members of DARS here. Life and rocketry is funny.

I'm going to add on a great experience with Teddy and OneBadHawk. I made a small order, just 2 rolls of light and extra light kevlar some LPR builds I am working on. Despite the holidays and sales, he shipped everything lightning fast and refunded the difference when shipping didn't cost as much as his cart charged. That was an unnecessary gesture, but certainly appreciated. I'll definitely buy from them again for future projects.

Yeah,, sorry about the shipping charges
but my site is dumb in that it only knows how to stack one shipping charge
on top of another for each dissimilar item added to the cart..
So I wind up constantly refunding shipping charge overages..
I never knew how complex it can be to get the shipping charges correct..
To get them correct is extremely complex and extremely expensive..
I'm certain that leaving it like this costs me some business / must deter some from ordering..
This is why all over my site I encourage people to send me an email with their shopping list,,
then I make an invoice and ship..
By this method it's impossible for me to receive any money for anything I can't immediately ship..
I just find it simpler this way..

After reading many fine recommendations on the forum for both Ted and his high standards for customer service and quality of his products I placed an order just before Thanksgiving. Prompt and friendly communication followed each and every step of my order to delivery. Speaking of delivery ... The post office delivered my order to the wrong house (5 streets away) but due to tracking and PO GPS the harnesses were retrieved and delivered just four days late.

During the wait Ted stayed in communication and cheerfully offered to replace the order if it didn't show up. It wasn't his fault, it was the PO. It has been a real pleasure working with Ted all the way and I highly recommend you check out his products. I'll be a repeat customer!

I've only purchased from him once, but it was a very good experience and he's made my "go-to" vendor list. If I want to buy something I know he sells, I'll head that way. He was extremely helpful sorting out what I needed and wanted from the recovery system and the gear was top notch with a fair price. Even the hardware items are priced such that I'd have to buy in bulk from McMaster to beat him.
