I also like the line of DMS motors now that AT has got the thrust line problem corected. I sold off a lot of my hardware it just made no sense to me to have all that money tied up in hardware that for the most part gets used very little. To each there own

Why? They don't sell and neither did cti's. I believe they discontinued theirs as well. I can count on one hand how many of either set I have sold ever.

They might have if you could get cases? I have tried several times to get some of the Kosdon 29mm cases for the KBA loads to no avail. I guess I don't have to worry about it anymore.

That is because Kosdon died several years ago. Aerotech never sold the hardware for them.

The hardware is available from other vendors, though... I think Ken Allen has a stash of them. He has everything, it may just take some time for him to locate it. A while back I was interested in acquiring an Ellis mountain case for some EM reloads I was going to pick up for a song... And he had them in stock. But that fell through on my end.

To my understanding, Kosdon East (yellow AMW cases) were made for the Kosdon loads and these were the cases that Ken had or has. The have thrust rings like the AMW case where as the actual Kosdon cases were designed to be taped and did not have thrust rings. That's the reason I never picked one up from Ken, I wanted the old school west coast Kosdons. I'm hard core like that.

Your machinist could run 3 different parts? Incredible. What about 150 different parts? Let's do apples to apples. All 29mm HP and 75RAS will be in stock before Thanksgiving.

Charlie, I am not bashing my friend. :)

I have many machine shops that machine parts one-off, small run, production run, of parts that I design on a weekly basis. For them to machine (3) different designs of mixed qty, (150) different designs or (500) different designs; it matters not to them. For a CNC machine shop with internal inspection and dedicated finishing and external coating services at the ready and internal processes which includes scheduling software to handle large, multi-part multi-piece mixed orders. This is not a problem.

If you would like me to share some contacts, please let me know. I am more than willing to help out wherever and whenever I can. These aren't small 3 mans shops either, these are multi-million dollar operations who work off a production schedule. They also have direct contacts with large casting, forging, extrusion and mills locally and internationally for sourcing the right materials for jobs. This includes dealing directly with Alcoa, Plymouth, TRW, etc.

Im still packed on motors, and the few that I'm out of are because they just sold. Bottom line is if the dealer places the order, Aerotech will fill it assuming the dealer pays for it. I have about 1500lbs of motors(propellant) in stock, and there are 2 x70lb boxes coming on Tuesday. Shipments are regular to the dealers.
This is just not true .
I too have been receiving boxes from Aerotech constantly over the past year.
But as of the beginning of the month we have had propellant on back order since December of last year.
And we pay for all of our orders .

I think this situation is problematic (who wouldn't?)... for example I've been quite enamored with the AT F67, but the dealers I've usually dealt with have a drought of the very item I'm after (the F67-6 in particular) while others seem to have huge volumes of them. I don't know the reason for this specifically. Most if not all of my wish-list hardware and/or motors are available, but often not at any ONE dealer. I'd have to order from several different ones and that means incurring excessive shipping charges imho. So I wait and AT doesn't get my money unless I can either work around the problem or the situation changes.

obviously you are all duped by this FAKE NEWS !

Aerotech never discontinues anything !
They've got like 45 different closures and the PRC to boot ! Theyve got LMS , HDKs and RDKs !
Theyve got interlock clips, and Arcas Data Plates . Thev've got FastJack, BlackJack and Fast BlackJack

They did discontinue RMS-EZ , but I hear its coming back ..because AT never discontinues anything !

Kenny

Kenny, Aerotech did in fact DISCONTINUE, as in no longer manufacturing nor taking orders for ANY snap ring reloads! That is posted fact.

Aerotech does discontinue stuff form time to time. I have not been able to buy B6, C4, C6, C12, and E27 18mm reloads for more than a decade. I also can't F14s for about the same amount of time. Further, G33 29/40-120 reloads have been not been made since the 2001 Aerotech fire. I would like to try a D8, but those motors have been unavailable since the early 1990s.

Honestly though... Love AT motors. Can anyone beat a good M1939? How about the scream-y L850? It the I600R in the 38/720?
Yeah, I'll be flying AT for a long time
Me too. . one of my faves is the K1103X . I also turned my GForce into an I-Force and flew it on an I59 .
I should aplogolize at having some fun at ATs expense ..instead of having fun using ATs product.

With the release of a new item like the 54mm floating foward closure extended tapped. . any thought of retiring the previous skus and center on the new product ?

I hope you're not talking about retiring the current line of RMS casings with threaded closures? The RMS line is great because we can utilize a variety of casings with the same closures (for the most part). Also, If I want to put a 2 grain 54mm case in a Fat Boy, then darn it, I will!

They have been shipping the floating closure and retaining ring in place of single piece closures lately.

Does anyone have a drawing or picture of this floating closure? Seems like something I ought to know about. Thanks

They have started discontinuing some items KBA, standard forward closures on 38mm and 54mm.
We do have some of each left over,I was even able to find some old new stock of rouse 54 forward closure open.

Competition is a good thing.
...

And more competition should keep prices in check. I have noticed price increases in the last 3 years. For instance, the "right before Thanksgiving" list price for the J350W (38/720) was $59.99 in 2016, and increased to $64.99 in fall of 2017, and is now $72.99. Almost all other sizes have increased as well. I have not tracked the price history of CTI, but based on the current pricing, they are competitive on a "cents per ns" basis.
