2019 National Sports Launch (NSL) Ideas

As everyone may know the Rocketry Organization of California (ROC) is hosting NSL 2019 with a theme of the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo Moon Landing. It will be held the second weekend in June at Lucerne Dry Lake, California.

We'd love to get some ideas in regards to the Apollo commemoration. Please respond with your ideas for ways we can celebrate.

Maybe a Saturn V mass launch or drag race?

Maybe a "Best Replica or Model" contest of Saturn V's or Apollo era rockets?

We are still very early in planning, so this would be a good time to kick around some ideas.

Have a "walk like Neil" race.. all the racers 'bounce' from point A to point B in their best 'moon walk'..

Give out some US flags, and 'mark' where thier Saturn V was retrieved from. At the end of the day, you should have a bunch of 'flags planted'

A scale model contest / show..

try to organize a "chronological order" launch: launch a Gemini, then a little joe, then a sat 1B, then a Sat V, then a ...

I'm going to watch this....as we are planning to attend with the full store.

If doing that it needs to be a launch abort...shortest flight duration where the egg survives.

More fun if the required motors are a cluster of at least 3 E9 motors.

This is supposed to be a re-creation of a Saturn V launch, not an N-1...
