Over the top fun Launch.
Hay I just wanted to say thanks so much. Wildman, Jacky, Eric and all the MWP personnel that made this trip so fun. Don Sherrie Chad and myself from URRG potter NY really had a great time. Teddy One bad Hawk told us how much fun it would be and further explained that he couldn't explain it you just have to live it and boy how right he was. Anyone that wants to enjoy a great launch needs to do MWP its that good. The banquet food people and prizes were off the hook good and a blast. The build party was a bucket list experience. I believe we will be repeat offenders on this event. Thank you all so much.

Susan and I had a blast. Wish we didn't have to leave the party at the Days Inn, but we need sleep for the drive home. See y'all at MMWP next year !!

Another great year, new friends made and new memories to last a lifetime. Thank you to all who came to fly and hang out with us. I Thank you personally to all the volunteers who helped to make the launch run smooth, couldn’t have done it without you all! It was great to hang out with my rocket buddies for 3 days straight! Hope to see you all soon. Please continue to post more pics.

As always super support from Tim and Jackie from Wildman, but am also loving seeing a mix of rocketry suppliers present; mostly displaying and testing new/different products in development.

Thanks, everyone, for coming out to spend the weekend with us. MWP 16 was an absolute blast. Two days of launching out of three ain't bad. I'm hoping to process all the flight cards and come up with total impulse fired and maybe some other stats. I was thrilled to see all the NY friends make their way out. Please post more pics! Also, if you're willing to share your pics of rockets and/or people or scenery, please send them to [email protected]
I'd love to use them for the website.

Thanks for another fun weekend QRCS! My wife took a ton of photos. I'm going to upload them to imgur.com, you can see 80 of the photos she took on Friday by following this link :

If you see your rocket there and want higher res or more photos of it, PM me and I'll get them to you. I tried to just post one photo of each rocket she took pictures of.

I'll get some up from Saturday and post a link to that as well, though she didn't take as many the second day.

Here are a couple of the good ones :

Special thanks to QCRS and, their hard working crew for all that they did! Even though my time was brief on Saturday it was great too see so many of you again...Sabrina and, the Sager family especially.
Teddy? (Bad Hawk) we figured out what that mystery kit was- Think Empire Model Rockets. I was VERY happy to add that one to my M:eek:NSTER Bomarc Missile Collection. Very SPECIAL thanks to my good friend Wildman (and, Mrs. Jackie) for working a deal on that one. You will get your copy of the paperwork soon.

For those that might ask- The Lynyrd Skynyrd Concert in Peoria last night was AWESOME! :)

Thank you QCRS for putting on the launch; and putting up with all of us goons! ;) Wish I could've been there Friday...wasn't in the cards this year.

Nice to see a contest winner this year from outside the usual suspects here in the "Great Lakes" Midwest clubs. Congrats Amy from Kloudbusters!

Seconded! Great to see Lance, Randy, and Amy up in "the Midwest"! Congrats Amy...well done in style!!!

This seemed fitting.....

Wow,, some absolutely smokin pic's everybody...
( get it,, smokin )...

I owe you all a fantastic debt of gratitude..
Sandy has been trying to get me to shave off my beard for forever..
She has even threatened me with a pair of scissors in my sleep...
Well,, after winning the trophy for "Best Beard"
I should be good to go for quite a while to say the least..
I am now trying to figure out the most prominent spot in the house to display the trophy,,
a spot where she'll see it at least a hundred times a day...

On a far more serious note,,
the news about Mark K has really hit home..
I liked him a great deal..
We have spoken and dealt with each other many times over the years..
Sandy and I have such a wonderful time at this launch..
It's all about the camaraderie..
Just seems a shame it's not often enough..

I'd like to make a request,,
More people travel to away launches..
How about some of you all try to make it to URRF ( The "Upstate Regional Rocket Fest ) this year..
This is The Upstate Regional Rocketry Group's ( URRG ) annual big launch...
These guy's will impress you all in a big way,, they run a top shelf launch for sure..
The third weekend in June in the absolutely spectacular Finger Lakes region of upstate NY..
Everywhere you look is a picture postcard scene..
Wine tasting abounds if that's your thing..

I really can't wait to see you all there...

Teddy

Teddy is spot on regarding the annual URRF launch in the finger lakes of upstate NY. My wife and I spent a day after URRF4 to encircle Lake Canandaigua to visit wineries and take in the scenery. We already have our hotel booked for URRF6. A great group of rocket guys and gals.

They're not kidding... I've been out there twice now, and I love it. I'm already counting the days till I leave again. Honestly the best week of my year. Great people, great flying, great scenery... And you'll never forget an evening spent at Smuggler's...

So...

Very happy to be able to drive out (1250 miles one way) and made it safe, just to see the best launch in the Midwest. I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to Wildmans for sponsoring the Friday night Gizmo build (and putting up with the builders :) ). Started at 6 pm and I think by 11 pm the external fillets were drying. Flew on an J-145 SK here is recovery.

P.S. Flew the Gizmo XL DD this weekend on an M2080 ...... pretty fun

A special thanks to the QCRS folks for inviting the Marshall-Putnam & Bureau County 4-H groups out to run the hot dog stand on Saturday, and to all those who stopped by and grabbed a bite to eat. With all of your help the 4-H youth were able to raise a decent amount (especially for a one day event!) This money goes to supporting youth programming and special event scholarships throughout the year, so it is always very much appreciated. We also now have a better idea for next year (sounds like coffee and hot chocolate will definitely be on the menu.)

A personal thanks to Teddy for spotting Waylon and I some dog barf on Friday, you really saved the day for our Star Orbiter flights! Thanks to the LCOs for letting the kids do their B6-4 Baby Bertha drag race on Saturday. My youngest is still pulling out bragging rights on her brother every few days... There are already plans in the works for another sibling rivalry drag race for MMWP in the spring, they just have to decide which kit it will be.

Thank you for doing the food! It was excellent, and such a great cause...
As for those kits... I'm thinking Wildman Minis would be fantastic!
