I don't bother filleting fin pockets any more, instead I bevel the upper edge and lower edge where they meet the air-frame and mmt then as the epoxy is squeezed up by the fins insertion it pushes it into the beveled areas creating mini-fillets.

My fear with that is that I’ll make the fillet pocket too wide and I won’t get enough epoxy to do a proper fillet. I’m kinda cheap on my epoxy use. Lol

I still need to epoxy it all but this is the baffle so far.
4” coupler 8”long
4” stiffy tube 8” long or so
6” of 54 mm motor mount coming up into it
5” of 3” tubing going over that.

I wonder if I should ditch the stiffy tube? I’m worried it’s too cramped in there. Or maybe drill some holes down the 3” tube?

Another shot of the baffle components in different states of assembly for size comparison. I figure I’ll drill holes in the white tube. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Maybe I’ll shorten the 75mm tube considerably? I’ll probably still drill holes in the white tube as well.

I decided to use bass wood for the fin pockets. Filleted with chopped fiberglass and west systems epoxy.

Finally got the canards on and used the remaining epoxy for filleting the rear centering ring.

I ordered the GLR Pinnacle nose cone and an Eggfinder Mini with LCD. Hopefully my soldering skills are up to par. I included a few progress shots. In one I have the cannon mocked up with everything on the centering ring on the bottom of the transition other than the bungee(still debating) for the bridal attachment point. You can also see the wiring running through the wire tunnels down through to the transition on the cannon breach as well.

Making the attachment points for the harness. Some razor blade work, a 24mm mmt, and a little time later and the results are this...

And there we go! Just gotta glue in the mmt half and then do the other side.

Fillets on the menus today. I made the prep stand where I could lower it and work on it from the opposite side. Makes it easier for me to get to the spots I need filleted.
