I saw one in use one time. Fantastic tracking device. That said, to state the obvious, it is VERY expensive.
Yes, but with a ceiling of 300K this is unique for a commercial COTS turn-key solution.

What is the 300K ceiling?
300K is not a ceiling. The radio link will work well past that. I grounded tested it to 318K line-of-sight and had a nice solid link with good signal margins so I simply stated "Range exceeds 300K feet" as a nice round number on the Multitronix website.

A better marketing spec would be: ">300K and still looking for rocket flights to find out exactly what the range is....:
