I shot a light coat of Rust-Oleum' "Universal Bonding Primer" on my PS II Nike Smoke and it blistered the glasine.

Yes, it was a light coat, and I hit it with some 250 grit paper and a good wipe down before spraying.

I got it sanded back down, but it has pock marks all over. It's lathered up with lightweight spackle now, and I'll have a lot of sanding to do next weekend.

Poor thing looks like it was dipped in frosting.

I can't take pics with this phone, but I think you can imagine how it looks.

Lol. You want to know also that Rustoluem Glitter and Fluorscent paints have nozzles that freeze upfront. I literally wasted $15 on paint cans that didn’t work if it makes you feel better your not the only one with paint problems.

I had more luck with the automotive grey primer by Rustoluem plus the satin paints spray on although I am new to painting Estes kits.

Yeah, I'm going to chuck that can of primer. I know it'd be fine on fins (balsa, ply or other materials), but the way it blistered that body tube really hacked me off. But hey, I can get a new tube for $18!

I got a new tube from e-Rockets and didn't use the "Universal Bonding Primer" on it. Just good old gray high build primer. It went on great, sanded smooth and it's ready for buttons, lugs and paint.

I use Tamiya liquid primer for fins, have been wanting to try the spray surface primer. Has anyone used it? It is compatible with plastic, wondering if it attacks the glasine on the Estes body tubes.
