What goes on at the rocket pasture, stays at the rocket pasture, or at least in the recovery area...

And it's like, people in Missouri, they don't speed up to pass, even maintain speed--they slow down(!).

I know several have probably already made camp in the rocket pasture and can hardly wait to hit the road in the morning and join the fun.

Yeah, we have arrived and are set up along with about a hundred other fliers. Wildman, One bad hawk, Chris Rocket supply and a few other venders are already set up too. Wildman rented a margarita machine, so you know where the party is.

Wish I was there this year! You all have a blast and post pics so we can live vicariously through you !

Is the biggest day going to be Saturday? We had planned to leave tomorrow after my son gets out of school at 3. We have a 5 hour drive so we will probably just go to the hotel and not to the field. Now I'm wondering if we should leave earlier.

Almost there !!

Every day is big, depending upon weather. No matter what day(s) you come there will be amazing rockets. Don't fret.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been to Airfest but I’m bringing my boys out for Saturday and Sunday. I plan on camping but I don’t have a camper, just a large tent. Is that ok?

I also plan on bringing my 10” dobsonian telescope out for some night time fun.

Tents are welcome, and stargazing is encouraged. :)

So far so good for a windy Friday at Airfest, already seen multiple and M some N motors, catoed a research motor within 200 ft of the pad, classic John Clifton spool, and the waiver isn't even closed yet. Not a bad way to start the weekend.

Good first day here, if a bit windy. Sharon and I both got a rocket off early. Sharon’s Jimbo Jart on a K400 to 6205 ft. My 3” Punisher flew on a J250 to 4778 ft. Both rockets were a challenge to recover, landing over a mile away despite dual deploy. A couple of the best flights were by Justin F., his Mach 2 flew to 22,900 ft. on an L935 despite the wind. Setting a high bar for the Wildman altitude contest. Jason G. Got first flight of the day with his 6” Demon to 16,500 ft.
Tomorrow’s weather promises to be better, with lower winds and temperatures predicted.

Can we get some pics? For those of us slackers not going???

Sorry no pictures but have to say- Teddy and the One Bad Hawk crew made us ALL a fantastic dinner. Went back for seconds and figure it was as good a 30th birthday present as I could ask- yep turned 30 in the rocket pasture today! Love it out here and can't wait till the morning. I'll try and post some pics tomorrow if I can hold in to 4G signal long enough.

- driving up on Wed
- sunset Wed
- a big stonkin' K that needed 1515 at the 50s
- a research G with custom electronics that instead provided surprise geology

+1 on Sandy & Teddy's dinner, they even let me hold the big wooden spoonIMG_20180829_190747.jpegIMG_20180830_195952.jpegIMG_20180831_142417.jpegMVIMG_20180831_150646.jpeg

+1 on Sandy and Teddy's hospitality. And the frozen margarita machine next door was a real treat after the heat. Thanks Tim and Jackie !!

This was the first flight of the day (Sorry Mark, it’s naked)

It’s a 6” Demon (4 fin) I flew on an Albino Assault 12,500 N motor to 16,500’

Great day today despite the winds. The Kloudbusters really know how to run a great launch. Looking forward to tomorrow
