So have a few Estes PSII models I’ve been flying on BP engines but intentionally left out the engine block so I could fly bigger motors been looking at 29mm reloads and seems like there’s a good selection that uses the 29 120 enclosure from aerotech, I’ve seen them second hand for pretty reasonable amounts, and may pull the trigger on one on eBay for 25 bucks. My concern is that this enclosure is out of stock virtually everywhere new and has been for some time... I’ve been hearing about a new RMS Plus platform as well...

Is this enclosure system discontinued?

I highly doubt it. They sell a lot of reloads for that case. They manufacture in runs. So they make a run of a large qty of one item then move on to a different one. If they run out, may be a while before they get back around to making them again. And the demand is there.

$25 is a great deal for a 29/40-120 case, and as others have mentioned there's heaps of reloads for it.

Just so you know. The 29/120 and 29/40-120 are two entirely different motors/systems. I only mention it because in the title you mention one and in your post you mention the other. A slip of the tongue, err, finger maybe but just thought it worth mentioning. And if you are buying just the case, you will still need to purchase closures, both forward and aft.

you probably want the 29/40-120 and not the 29/120. So many good E-G impulse loads for the 29/40-120 hardware, If you can get the complete hardware set for $25 snatch it up quick. the hardware set contains three pieces. Also the closures for the 29/40-120 case ARE NOT interchangeable with the closures for the 29/120 case.

I have been asked this question on multiple occasions. I asked several dealers the same question over the past 12 months and they indicated that demand is high and there is no shortage of hobby reloads outside the of normal seasonal purchases.

I don’t really ever see reloads show out of stock. Occasionally a vendor may sell out but they seem to get the reloads back in stock quickly. The hardware, especially the hobbyline, can be difficult to locate. Or at least has been in the very recent past.

Yeah my fingers work faster than my brain some times all comments in my OP were in reference to the 29/49-120 hardware and reloads

That was pretty much what I was saying. Each vendor manages his/her stock differently.

Figured you were talking about that one. But didn't want you buying one thing expecting to get something else.

The 29/ 40-120 is commonly referred to as the hobby line case.
The 29/120 (or 180, 240 or 360) are the RMS plus cases.

Both are common, both are in current production, both have PILES of loads available (most of the time)

Here's are overview with photos and load lists on both sets- https://urrg.us/smf/index.php?topic=146.0

My advice is to buy cases that you need when you find them for "good" prices. You never know when you will lose one outright or have one get damaged. The prices for used cases has creeped up in the last couple of years.
