20180708_152329.jpg After a year and a half of knocking around with this bird, I finally managed to finish it today. 'Twas one of those scratch-builds fraught with a plethora of problems requiring re-work and retro-fits, but still turned out OK.
The whole grisly process is documented throughout my blog (linked below).
Anyway, I'm anxious for the open burn ban in Colorado to be lifted (probably sometime this fall), so I can get this thing in the air.
It will probably have to take a B4-2 for its maiden launch. I would rather start it out on an A motor, but no one makes a low average thrust/short delay A motor any more. Really miss those A3-2 motors of yore.

MALBAR 70 - The average Impulse on that Quest motor is perfect, but the model would be well on its way streaking toward terra firma or even lawn darting before the 4 second delay ended.

neil-w Thanks. I might just have to do that. I'll wait until I take the on-the-launch-pad glamour photo prior to its first launch.

Thanks. It might work OK, but it would be a higher thrust spike than an A8-3. I'll have to pull out Estes' Thrust /Time curves and do a comparison.
