"Laser" etching cases, or what to do with a scrap 54/2560...

I wish I had Dr Evil's finger quotes, but oh well...
So when your coworker has a 80 Watt laser and is looking for ways to have it earn it's keep, you offer suggestions...
I trashed my beloved 54/2560 case that was etched by Dr Rocket himself. So in order to maybe help other people out, I gave my case to my buddy. He's been playing with his "laser beam" (really missing those finger quotes now) and my scrap case. So here are some pictures (hopefully...).
So after way too long to figure out how to post pics in the new format (still not sure I did it right...), here they are.
The first pic is Dr Rockets' original etching.
The rest are my coworker's tests...
The last pic has the bad news. Currently, he can only fit 18" into the "laser"... But any diameter (within reason).

Next he’s gonna try to etch an older AT 75/7680 case that had the sticky label.

So if you have a black AT 75/2560 case, you don't "need" that RT/MM blue 75/2560 case, yes?

I don’t “need” a lot of things...
But a pair of things is more fun than one of a thing...

It's not trashed. Get Binder to cut it and rethead it!

I couldn't remember who it was who did that... I probably could have had it cut down to a 1706 case, but both ends would have had to be done. Too late now though... My buddy cut it in not quite half... Oh well, that helps keeps the value of Dr Rockets cases up, right?

When I get bored at work I just change the color of cases.

My friend spent a little quality time with his Laser tonight. I bought a used AT 75/7680 off of flea bay a few weeks ago. It’s a older case that had the sticky label which was long gone. Well, problem solved...
