That video reminds me of something I've thought about doing, but never had the time ...

It's always been a challenge showing how big the Vehicle Assembly Building at KSC is. Even when you are near it, it's hard to appreciate it's size because there's nothing around it to give it scale. I've thought about using Google Earth or something like it and dropping the VAB into downtown Orlando and other places to show its size better.

In contrast to that, here are a couple of GIMP-ed pictures of model rockets swapped out for the real thing on the launch pad...

Very neat video. You need to come down to the Space Museum here and walk under the Saturn V and a few others.

I've walked around the one that was laid on its side outdoors at KSC long ago. I was there for a shuttle launch. I need to see a restored Saturn V indoors some day.

Scanned from a 4x6. Note the gal in the pink blouse who I didn't notice until I had the photos developed. I was too busy framing the image with my black Canon A-1 with an obviously large telephoto zoom. Anyway, that's probably her hubby (or dad) about 6 feet behind her with the gold "farts and darts" on his cap bill.
