So I saw that Semroc use to have a kit of the Nike Ram but I can't find any info on the full scale rocket. Has anyone heard of the Nike Ram and maybe have some sort of documentation onit?

Thanks,
-Bob

Bob, we never did the kit for the Nike Ram but we probably had most of the parts for it. Not sure if Randy has kept up with the parts selection we had.

Sheryl

PS: Not too sure about this format.

The Nike Ram was a sport model created by the Enerjet division of Centuri Engineering.
I have an original Nike Ram in the box and used it to get dimensions to make clones of the model.

I was thinking it may be a sport rocket after I couldn't find anything about it on the web. It surprises me that info on some rockets/missiles are hard to find. Been trying to find a drawing of a Little John without luck. I stumbled on the Nike Ram when I was searching for that.

I'm just trying rockets again and I am in the last stages of my first build and looking for my next one. Maybe I'll just buy a Estes Patriot and do the 24mm mod...

Thanks for the info,
-Bob

Titan II,

Those are the type of drawing I need, but they are for Honest John. I was looking for Little John.

No worries, easy to do. I do appreciate you trying to help.

Thanks,

IIRC the Little John had two fin configurations, one for conventional and one for nuclear warheads. Rocketarium has a nice kit, as did TLP. Your best bet for scale drawings might be a military book or technical manual. If you're thinking of doing a scratch build, I might have the fin templates, if I can find the instructions.

Jack, the last page of the plans pdf for the Enerjet Nike Ram at YORP states that the nose cone is a PNC-132 (per Sean Lannan).
EDIT: per the Enerjet catalog, courtesy of Ninfinger's, the PNC-132 nose cone is 2.7" long:
https://www.ninfinger.org/rockets/catalogs/enerjet72/72ejet20.html
So the Erockets BC-1327 or 1327S would be a better match, I think. The 1327S is the same as the BC-1327, but with a shorter shoulder.

Drawing for both the XM-47 development version (seen in your picture) and the M-51 production version are available in available in Peter Alway's "Fourteen US Army Missiles of the Cold War". It is available through the NAR.

Yep, I have bought that book since I started this post way back in June. I bought it for the drawings of the Nike-Ajax but there are several other missiles I may model someday in it as well.

OK, I don't mind when people post my drawings here, but I *do* mind when they are posted without credit. I drew that Little John drawing. The development version on the left was based on measurements I made at White Sands on the outdoor display. The operational version at right was based on the Anthony Williams drawing mentioned in the sources.
