While all the agencies are blowing the dust off their contingency plans for a shutdown and with me being a government slug, I thought I should start getting my plan together.:D

I think I have enough rockets in the works or still in the bag to keep me busy for a couple of months at a completion rate of one rocket per day. Although, I know I can't work at that pace.

Maybe, I should order a few more just in case. I wouldn't want to be caught short.

Roy what are you talking about bud? I dont folow the news that closely so I must have missed something:confused2:

Fred, good for you. I wish I didn't listen to the news either. Anyway, our politicians are not coming to an agreement on the federal budget so, some of us may be get an unscheduled vacation. :D

My wife is a federal employee and we could certainly afford an extended shutdown. However, she works with a number of GS-5 and GS-7 employees who would be devasted by even a fairly short loss of pay. These people really don't make a lot and they can't afford to be out of work just so some blowhards (on both sides) can play politics.

I hope this matter gets resolved as quickly as possible with as little sufferring as possible for ordinary folks. I won't even pretend to understand how it works.
Cheers
Fred

Interestingly enough, the NASA budget and program is even now limping along on a Continuous Resolution (CR) until March 4th. A fully authorized budget for the current year has so far not been approved. Conceivably, things could get worse on March 4th. The Space Shuttle workers that are supporting the Discovery mission will continue to work loyally, although, they could in principle be not paid on time.

Fred, your not alone in not understanding how it works. We LIVE under this government and WE don't understand it, either:eyeroll:

I'd almost trade my "politics" for yours..

Mine is just a disfunctional bunch of twits complaining about language issues, corruption, and the loss of a war 400 years ago..

(I'm sure Fred and a few others know what Im talking about.. And I'm sure they're tired of it as well..)

Last time this happened was in 1995.... It doesnt mean total chaos, what it does mean that if you work for the government, you may have a unscheduled vacation coming.
would be nice if they did it during baseball season.

regardless. Roy...I would start taking advantage of those 40% off sales at Hobby Lobby.... I know I am!
