I have a 2.6 inch Black Brant 2 that is almost completely finished. The nosecone fits so loosely that there's no friction to hold it to the body tube. What techniques do you use to tighten the fit? I've used masking tape in the past, but I would like to avoid that solution if possible.

Masking tape has the advantage of being adjustable, should the body tube swell with weather changes...

I've found that since my workshop is not humidity controlled sometimes the cones are a little snug or loose when the customer gets them. I've measured a piece of balsa at different times of the year and there is a slight expansion/contraction. That along with the fact that I hand-sand the cones after turning them also introduces some variance. Two methods I use to get the fit just right is masking tape or epoxy. If you coat the shoulder in epoxy and then sand you will get a more robust shoulder. That being said, if there is any expansion in the field it can cause problems. Masking tape does have the adjustability factor working for it, and easier to apply. All that being said, if you are not satisfied with the nose cone let me know and I'll replace it.
