The last bit of paint and construction work was completed on the Little Joe model this afternoon, so a couple of photos seemed in order. Total mass of the model comes in at 844g without motors, electronics, parachutes, or the central motor tube. Still need to cut a couple centering rings for the central motor tube and ejection canister, but the bottom line is that the completed model ready-to-fly should come in around 1050g. There are ~23,000 rivets on the model, each individually hand-pressed, and the model stands 1231mm high with a 542mm fin span. The aft bulkhead assembly turned out especially nice, aided by 3D printed nozzles designed by Josh Tschirhart. The model easily breaks down into individual assemblies for transport, allowing for easy replacement of parts damaged during flight or potential future upgrades.
Ideally, this will fly at next month's World Championships in the Ukraine.
