Just wondering what your take is on Axl fronting for ACDC?
My take...
Maybe it will work....?
I wish Angus would end it on a high note.
Let it go. ACDC can retire and will always be considered a legendary band. Axl can not fill the shoes.
Damn straight...Their in the Rock N Roll Hall of fame. Unfortunately so is GNR...
When you consider that there are more deserving bands/people (than GNR) like-
1. Iron Maiden.
2. Judas Priest.
3. Ronnie James Dio.
4. Ted Nugent.
Who aren't in and, they just celebrated inducting NWA this year? :confused2: (Obviously i can't even spell out what N-W-A stands for due too restrictions on this forum.)
Wrong guy for the job. They should have gotten Udo Dirkschneider, former singer of Accept, to take the job.
Axl Rose sucks.
Right as rain. The problem with Udo is that (and, i could be wrong) i think he was suggested at one time but, he's really getting up there in age. His tenure in this business is slowly drifting away.
Krokus singer would be a good fit. unlike Axle hose
Yes Bob, i know Marc Storace was suggested/thought of before they picked Brian Johnson but, they chose Brian and, the rest is history.
What really gets me is this...
These bands of the 70's and, 80's era (that molded and, evolved) what are the beginnings of Hard Rock/Heavy Metal from the 60's and, early 70's are getting up there in age real quick. When you think about it the success they had years ago (for some of them) will carry them far into their retirement years...
For others not so well.
Think about trying to tour and, produce albums in today's music market (Hard Rock/Metal is NOT a big seller now days) AND, make a profit when your 60-70 years old. Could you live that lifestyle?
It's very clear Angus want's to keep going. Malcolm is lost in dementia, Phil's got legal problems up the wazoo...and, Brian gets the word from his Doctor that the touring is tearing up what hearing he his. Of course racing cars (his other side hobby hasn't helped his hearing either).
So now your left with Angus and, who else?
What really burns me is that they dropped Brian like a hot potato over this issue when they could have switched their efforts to more studio albums and, letting him counter the effects of his hearing disorder.
In other words they or someone else felt- "Goodbye to the last 36 years of being together as friends/business partners." NOW.
All Axl is doing, is taking over to finish out a bunch of contracted shows...It's a dirty job but, they chose him and, time will tell.
Considering that the reunion of GNR (3/5ths of it) is presently going on, i don't forsee any permanent changes real quick with AC/DC in their lineup.
I know one thing, if it was me i would have taken the ticket refund option on any remaining shows i held tickets for.
Call me a sour puss but, seeing where the music industry is going today (this
oint: music genre) is like trying to sell Doo-Wop music in the 70's but, alot of us still are carrying on the memories from a distant time that is slowly disappearing as these musicians are getting up there in age...and, capabilities.
