I am sitting here waiting, lucky for me its at 10:00pm and I took tomorrow off work for a wedding. So its a win, win.

It's currently 1:33 AM for me. Launch is at 2:21 AM. I figure since I've made it this far I might as well continue. Luckily I do not have to wake up early tomorrow. :)

Gonna settle in bed with my iPad and watch it there! :D

Launched, staged, 2nd stage burning, first stage flipping around.

Fairing sep. 2nd stage going well.

First stage re-entry burn begun.

Landing burn begun.

MADE IT!!!!!!

I just scared the cat, I yelled so loud. Looks like this landing was even closer to the middle of the target.

Glad I got up for it! Amazing landing, way to go SpaceX!

Nate

It all occurred much faster then I was anticipating. Not much time all between the initial burns and the landing. I wonder what was burning after it touched down. Was it unused fuel or was part of the rocket structure burning? A very impressive flight.

This is becoming "routine" far faster than I would have expected.

Still frackin' awesome to me.

The SpaceflightNow article mentions footage from a nearby boat. Anyone have a link? I couldn't find it handily.

Edit: Nevermind. It was in the technical webcast.

I meant from a technical/success standpoint. Still doesn't make sense to see it happen. Feels like watching a movie...better, because I don't stay up after midnight for a movie.

They're getting better with the ship landing video connections, but this one caused some humorous reactions from the SpaceX crowd. Illumination seen due to approaching stage (woo!), frozen video (calms down a bit), bright washed out scene from exhaust (oooh!), mostly dark screen before camera adjusts exposure (awe...), stage seen sitting pretty (roar!).

Musk tweeted that three engines were burning for the landing, instead of the one engine that the last landing used. The entry speed was a lot higher this time because of the orbit they had to get to, and he gave it a 50-50 chance at landing.

I cant wait to see the Falcon9 Heavy lift off (hopefully in person) and see them land THREE first stages on three barges. That'll be amazing!

Blinding white screen that clears to reveal a rocket just sitting there.

Best magic trick ever.

That's exactly how it felt to me - barge picture, big flash of light (the expected post-crash explosion?) then, as the light died away - there it was, just sitting in middle of the landing circle. Just like magic.....
