The whole day's photos that I grabbed- (hopefully others will add their photos to the thread :) ) https://www.flickr.com/photos/31757945@N05/albums/72157666956612570

Our President Don reported on FB- "Great Success!! Started out chilly and slow, then afternoon the skies turned blue! 34 High power launches, 13 Level 1 Cert flights, 6 Level 2 Cert flights. 20 Low Power flights. Thanks to all who came and helped. Mike Dutch and Robert DeHate for getting all those rocketeers certified. We had a competition team from MIT and a competition team from Cairo, Egypt.

We had a group of guys come out from Egypt to build some rockets with AMW and fly with us.

As usual, great pictures! Pretty windy launch, but we had a good turn out and put in a few good flights. I didn't get to fly anywhere near what I wanted to personally, but my mixers accounted for ~4,500Ns of the total yield for the launch!

Here's my quick video of the two flights of my Old School Cool, a 54mm MD rocket using an ACME fin can. The rocket is heavy and draggy but flies really well on smaller motors. Need to open it up a bit soon...

Yeah I agree nice weekend. I had two choices this weekend, a local LPR (CrC) launch and URRG but unfortunately I was not able to attend either. Man I wish there was a bridge over the lake it would likely cut my drive time in half!

Saw your flight card...bad booster motor choice. Try some high thrust motors like an I540 next time after you run some stability checks!

Too bad that ferry tanked so hard... was cool in theory.

I agree with a more snappy booster motor. I was impressed however that the altitude lockouts worked and it was a 'successful failure'.

I heard I missed a great weekend. Heard there were 19 certifications done plus 6 or 7 level 2 tests given. Wow I wonder if that's a record for a weekend club launch. It most certainly is one for our club. I heard Mike Dutch and Robert Dehate with others did some great team work to pull that off. Hope to hear from some of those there with the flight numbers and flights. I guess there were some very cool experimental flights. Really good to hear how many are getting involved with the club and participating in promoting the hobby to the new comers.

Those are some great shots, Dave. I don't know how you can manage to get so many pics and still have time to fly.

Thanks. Setting up within a couple steps of being able to see the flight line, walking away from people in the middle of conversations, and injecting coffee into my arm helps :)

I typically prep as much as possible the night before. My villain was set to drop on the pad, hit 3 buttons and be good to go. I'm in the process of working my av-bays to reload without opening them up, and moving to snap ring motors, they build much easier on site than AT. The pace of the weekend launches is much easier to keep up with.

If you've ever got a flight you want photos of, feel free to ask me to come over and shoot it if I'm not standing around already. I've been shooting a bit less at launches, but still really enjoy getting people photos of their flights. The best time to get me is when you're heading to the pad.... I'm kinda like a raccoon and get distracted easily :)

If you're interested in any other club launches, I try to keep them all here- https://www.flickr.com/photos/31757945@N05/collections/72157658759265791/
I'll likely be adding more from URRF 1&2, and LDRS34. I closed down the store but still want people to have access to those.

Wow,, 19 certs,, that does sound like a record..
Now that's what I call paying forward,, great job everybody...
Dave,, you're the king photographer without a doubt,, lol..
Michael,, how long is your trip to Potter ??
I thought it wasn't too bad...

Our rocket was the big one that nearly got taken out by the 3 stager. My GoPRO just happened to catch their launch so I thought I'd drop it here. We flew Therion on an M3400, a little sportier than an I540.

Ted you are right everyone of Dave's pictures are calendar pics. I had issues with a motor once and Dave sent me pics of it in mili second intervals so I could psycho analyze it. It was crazy cool.

Nice! Great shots! Any idea if you got a pic of Mike Crupe's 4" Villain on Saturday flying on my Orange motor?

Thanks Dan, and sadly no, I didn't get a shot of it. I didn't realize he was flying it and Dave and I both ran off to fetch our rockets at the same time :bang:

I'm with you on that Michael. When you guys have a launch that I can't attend (which is most of the time) I get real grumpy especially when Dave keeps posting the pics of a great launch! Where is that "Miami Vice" Scarab boat to take us across Lake Ontario in half an hour?

If I can get the toddles to man the sails I think I could get you guys over here :)

Forget the sails, we'll just lit up our CTI motors from the Canada side & strap them to the stern.

Lol. it's got a low draft and weighs about 800 pounds.... a pair of O3400's would likely get you across.
