Got some vinyl markings cut today for a new profile rocket glider.

Actually did a little building last weekend and am about to update two built threads and start a new one... All rocket gliders.

Thanks, all! That will be the only time it's assembled in the house.

Waiting for the L motors to arrive - either a 3 grain 75 or 2 grain 98.

Got everything prepped for the AARG launch tomorrow. Flying a bunch of new LPR models and going for my L1 cert!

When I realized my motor retainers wouldn't fit the Madcow Squat with a CTI motor, I also realized I had no brass strip to fab some clips. Off to the LHS during afternoon rush hour...d'oh!

Picked up a pizza for dinner (Papa Murphy) on the way home, baked it as Mrs.OD was trying to shake off the bug she caught from the grand boys and wasn't able to do much, and finally made it out to the shop around 7 pm.

Fabbed the clips, assembled a few motors, prepped four rockets, made up a kevlar leash for my Jolly Logic Chute Release (tm), packed the car, and finally finished up around 9:30pm. Whew!

See some of you tomorrow at the LUNAR launch at Snow Ranch! Might be the last one there until the fall or spring so don't miss out.

This is yesterday needed to remove aeropack that was JB welded on , no room for upper stage coupler / slimline snap ring style is ordered for replacement

Heat gun popped that like it was butter , I used part of exhaust pipe as heat shield , sock in side motor tube so heat stayed local
1 5/8" flat washer inside retainer to drive against with pvc electrical pipe

Hope it went good!

I have that same Keter Brand Toolbox that I use for a range box. It's a great box!

Finally finished papering the fins on my Estes Phoenix. Tomorrow I have the day off so I think I'll start gluing the fins in place. Gotta start thinking about placing an order for some engines as well.

Just saw the ISS fly overhead. Beautiful, right over our heads; 82 degrees above the horizon according to NASA, 6 minutes of viewing, even got my mom out to see it. Really very cool. Tiny white dot tracking across the sky, even before it was dark enough to see many stars.

Worked on my 5.5" Cherokee D, its down to the worst part now, finishing, it will have paint on it but no decals for its first flight next weekend.

Mailed some Fiberglass Cloth of varying aspects to forum member dhbarr.:)

I always feel good when I can actually give something to the Rocketry Community!
Hope he likes the Glass!

Thanks again for getting me hooked JeromeK99!!!

Added wood filler to my Mad Cow Torrent fins/fillets for about the third time, because I *finally* found the Elmer's Carpentry Wood Filler in town. Wow--with a population of over 250,000 people...you'd think that more than two stores would stock the stuff!

I also put the final coat(s) of primer on the rocket too, and tomorrow will try to get a coat of paint on the thing.

I'm sure they have plenty of trees though for you to get the rocket stuck in :)

Welcome to the Forum!

Well sadly enough, we don't have a local launch site. So there won't be many HPR rockets getting stuck in trees around here I'm afraid...

Bong then- the trees there eat rockets :)

Was going to go there today actually, but then the snow came...again.

Going to QCRS's field at the end of April though, to try for the L-1 and L-2 certs on the same day. Or, at least the L-1 and the written...and then go back in May. Need to get them done though, as I've been working on this rocket, on and off, for the better part of two years. Medical issue got in the way last year, but this spring it's full speed ahead.

Hello Griffin, I see you're the Prefect down at QCRS. I sent a check down for membership this past week, to Steve. Just wanted to give you guys a heads-up. I would have called to introduce myself, but there was no number on the form...so I just sent the check.

Clear coat and nose weight on the PSII Patriot.

Finished basic construction of the BT-60 Ninja. Fillets and paint next.

Went to a launch...first one in a year where I launched a rocket that actually left the pad.

I laughed, I cried, I fell down.

Chute Release (tm) FTW!

Picture 003.jpgPicture 004.jpgAfter taking a break from the hobby for a year, I ended up in Hobby Lobby last night and found a couple items that caught my attention that I had to buy.
I saw the poster of U.S. Rockets and decided to look in the rocket section and found a MR with the correct decals this time. So I bought the poster and the MR ( the one on the left ). I set the older MR from last year next to it to compare packaging ( the one on the right).
