What did you do rocket wise today?

General launch prep things in advance of Saturday's club launch.

Still getting my chops up on the iOS version of Thrustcurve. Wish there was an option for selecting two manufacturers' motors from the guide. Only have Aerotech and CTI motors here in Cali so "any" produces a long list of motors that aren't available here.

Purchased an Estes Crossfire kit to build for the grandson's future fleet. I like the rocket, really don't care for the peel and stick decals.

Just received these Squirrel Works kits:

The Police Call Box is actually a birthday present from my father, who's a big Dr. Who fan. I'm not sure if I'll wind up building it for him or if he'll do it. I bought the other kit because I haven't attempted a glide-recovery rocket yet...

It finally turned warm enough to spray some paint. I've had an Estes Interceptor-E sitting in primer for months. I ditched the gloss white paint scheme and went with Flat Light Aircraft Gray. Next it gets a Krylon UV-Resitant Acrylic Gloss Clear coating for decals, then shot with the Matte Clear after decals are done to return it to a flat finish.

Had my day made. Was on Sirius' site and discovered that SEMROC has returned. Oh, and Sirius guys, sorry for the dumb e-mail, I didn't catch the notice at the top, somehow I surfed into the middle of the page. My bad.

But SEMROC has returned! YAY!

Went over to my Mom's house to grab three more of my Rockets.
There's plenty of room to hang them from the ceiling where they are not in the way.
Even though I can't set up to do any building, it is nice to have my flyable birds and nearly flyable birds back home.
Now I have 13 up there. Today I grabbed my Estes #3232 Centuri, my scratch build glassed AIM-120 AMRAAM 24mmXBT60, and my glassed Estes D-Region Tomahawk.

This morning I put masking stars on my daughter's Tiny Pterodactyl. If the weather holds out it will get a coat of purple metal-flake later today.

Maidened my scratch built Black Brant II and 18mm Super Fletcher. Both flew awesome but were both darn near lost, landing in the thick brush at the edge of our field. Still, success!

You didn't fly the Estes BB!? And where's the video?

Built a B6 version eggfinder , not much over 2 hrs into build worked right after last solder done :)

Huge difference from trying to drink coffee and solder one last year , IMO this is easier board to build

Video soon. I'm actually on my way home now. And no, after nearly losing the little BB due to the breeze carrying it, I decided today was not the day for the Estes, even on a C11. Hopefully next week for that one.

Understandable. Don't want to lose Eleanor on the first flight... again.

Once again visited my Mom, since my Son wanted to spend the night over there.
I ended up bringing home two more rockets and even a small box of building supplies.

Did you use any particular type of star stickers for that? Was thinking of doing something like that I my upcoming Laser Lance build.

They are Parma brand masking stickers, I think they were about $5.00 on Amazon. They worked great, but due to some drips (the purple metal flake was terrible stuff to paint with) I am starting all over on the rocket... :(

Launched!! Great launch today with SARG. Great group of folks and a nice site with knee deep soft grass! I put up 15 launches today. E-G with all recovered perfectly, save the one Estes E9-6 CATO. Time to file a mess report... Lots of other great launches. Thanks SARG! The F44's were a hit.

"If you can't stand to lose them, build model trains."

First person to tell me that was Robert Vanover, and it is the best advice I've gotten in rocketry.

The rocket impacted 1/4 mile from anyone, the up part was spectacular, and the motor case was recovered undamaged...about as good as one of these situations can work out really.

EggFinder's last packet took me to within 12 ft.
