Oh man that's like losing a family member. But at least you were prepared. But your new little inspiration will be just the ticket she needs. The healing power of a pet cannot be underestimated. Good stuff Mark.

Yep Im sure hoping it works for her... we are both animal lovers.. we have a bunch of pets.. but when yours goes... its just sad..

I shouldn't have spent the money but she is totally worth it!

Just got word tehy are changing her dressings and they are sending her home!

That is great to hear that she is coming home. Dakota will help her a whole lot. Love you guys.

Oh man Mark,,
I am really sorry for the dog,,
That's seriously tough..
This aught to help her though,,
that sure is a cutie you've got there..
It's great she's coming home too..

Teddy

My dog is about 13 and I know her days are drawing near the end. My daughter will be crushed. You have my sympathy. Hope the new dog is a joy.

Well shes home and doing good! she looks like she went a few rounds with Michael tyson.. but good LOL

she loves the new puppy. he slept all snuggled up with her last night.. I think he's gonna do her a world of good!

Marian is back in the OR . they are having to evacuate fluid frm her chest which sets everything back to day one.

Mark,,
After the last surgery I had I had 3 drains installed for a month...
I'd like to think this is not that out of the ordinary...
More prayers for her..

Teddy

Sorry to hear about the speed bump, Mark.

As Teddy said, drains are part of the modern treatment protocol. I had a drain installed two months ago as part of my appendix experience and they didn't even remove my appendix! My appendix had burst, healed itself as they often do, and then an abscess developed which required draining. Turns out that appendix removal is becoming a thing of the past now that antibiotics and drains can accomplish the same thing without the surgery.

Best regards to Marian. Tell her to keep her chin up and keep pushing forward. Sis is a 10 year survivor and still going strong.

Now we know why Teddy's hair is not brown :>

seriously, get better soon!

They took out 600 cc's of fluid and replaced the faulty drain. Thanks again for all of the positive thoughts and prayers. We are still going to beat this monster.

Aw that's great Mark,,
That's nothin compared to what she's been through..
This'll all be behind you both before you know it..

Teddy

(My hair used to be all brown,, now it's 2 tone)...

Mark,

I hope the best for you and Marian. I've seen a few people deal with cancer and it's rough on everyone involved to say the least. Every time one of you post I hold my breath a little.

I have a question and I know it's not a priority. If someone else has an answer that would be fine too. How small can you make lettering and have it readable? I'm looking at Amarillo 12-16 point font. Is that reasonable?

Chris, How far away do you want to be and still be able to read it? Best way I have figured out how to determine this is print it on a sheet of paper, tape to the wall, and keep stepping away from it. When you think it's too small, there is your distance. Adjust accordingly.

Mark, we are pulling for you and Marion. Hang in there, a positive outlook can do more healing than some of the prescriptions handed out (or at least make the prescriptions work better).

Well just an update..

Marian is doing well now after the mastectomy.. its gonna take some time but shes doing good up and about moving pretty good almost back to normal.. well as much as we can expect for now..

in a couple days she goes in to see a specialist.. they are setting up to do radiation treatments.. this is going to suck..

She will get a treatment every day for at least 30 days straight.. worst part is thats a 30 plus mile trip into town every day.. its going to take a toll on us.. her especially..

so once this starts please understand im gonna be slow at responding and filling orders.. I know you guys understand.. just wanted everyone to know!

thanks a million!

Hello Mark and Marian,

Been a while since I've been here, but have been reading and catching up.

WOW, lots happening in a short time.

Faulty drains?????? Its just plumbing. They can fix plumbing easy enough.

Good move on the new pup! Looks like a winner to me.

And we all knew that she was an animal lover... she married a big teddy bear.... you Mark!

As far as the 30 days? As they say, "this too shall pass." It is going to suck big time, but getting thru it to the other side is what to keep you minds on.

Besides, my Boss will be walking right beside you both the whole way. And He doesn't miss a thing even though I do. Matthew 11:28ff "Come to me all of you who carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you shall find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Keeping you both in my prayers.

Love you both...

Pastor Brad.... uh I mean the "Rocket Rev.," Wilson

Praying and pulling for you. It is amazing what we humans can endure when God empowers us.

Well its been a while so I figure I better update this..

Marian is overall doing really well the doctors are very happy and say she pretty much has this beat..

last week she started her radiation treatments.. this is to be sure they got everything.. I guess its pretty hard to get everything when lymph nodes are involved..

her surgeries went good and shes healing up from them pretty well. they have also removed her access port.. so we are really on the downhill!!

the radiation treatments right now are every day for the next 35 to 45 days.. this is kinda tough on her.. first off its a 30 min drive out there every day so its taking up lots of our time.. but thats the easy part..

the radiation treatments are pretty hard.. its 30 mins of holding still holding her breath while they nuke her (2 mins on defrost LOL)

they are making her pretty fatigued so shes tired a lot and shes already starting to have redness and tenderness of her skin.. its normal.. but after the reactions to chemo I am pretty sure the radiation is going to tear up her skin..

so all in all shes doing better than ever expected! but its still a battle!

thanks to everyone for all the help and support!

Mark and Marian!

Hey,,
I like that,,
Stay strong and march on...
More prayers for her Mark,, and you too..
Don't forget how fast the last few months went by,,
like a blink,,
that's how fast this will go by,,
and it'll be done and over..
I think the fact that they removed the port is a very positive sign of how they feel...
This is going EXTREMELY well for her....
Make a conscious effort to keep that in the forefront of both of your minds...

Teddy

I haven't read this thread in a while, but when I saw this the first thought that popped into my head was, she's dealing with cancer and now someone is biting her ears!

I lost my dad to lymphoma 40 years ago, and I remember how hard the chemo and radiation was for him. My best to both of you. I hope you both get a chuckle out of comment above.

Mark, thank you for keeping us up to date. It is so great to hear she is doing well. We'll keep the prayers going for both of you.
