Called RW a few times this morning. Each time I got "your call cannot be completed as dialed, please check the # and call again" Anyone else got this in the past?
The only time I can remember getting that phone message is when I neglected to include to proper prefix number (i.e., "1") when I dialed.

I think I managed to include the prefixes lol. There are days when I would need to be reminded of that though. I will try again later.

I had to wait 2-1/2 years for a delivery from a well-known rocketry vendor... I worked with them, was patient and they finally came through with 80% of the order and refunded the rest. Was I completely happy, no... I have held back ordering from them for the past 7 years and only this month did I again place a small order with that same vendor. I'll see how they do.

Not wanting to bring up anything wrt to the BF discussion, but felt an obligation to report on this section of my commentary from pages back... The vendor I referenced above did come through on their order. Took 3+ weeks and did not receive any confirmation/notification (didn't expect any really), but received my order today and am happy. Below market pricing on hobby line motor hardware I need for a mid-power cluster launch.

I still haven't heard anything yet regarding my order, at least I see a lot of you guys are getting stuff. Fingers crossed my order shows up soon.

I still haven't heard anything yet regarding my order...
Please call them. RW appears to be back on track with orders as my last two orders were shipped within a day - order on 2/8/16 shipped that day.

It's quite possible something 'burped', or 'fell into a crack'. At this point I think a phone call may be best.

No response to email, finally got through by phone after calling for a week, they said my black Friday order would ship Monday. That was two weeks ago and still no package. I'm glad someone is getting their order but my experience with rocketry warehouse has been less than positive. Now people order on 2-8-2016 and have their order shipped the next day? I placed my order months ago.

My guess is that considering the large volume of orders they have to fill, they ship what is easiest first, and thus please the larger number of people. If they can't fill an order for whatever reason, they move on to the next one and get back to it later. As far as communication, I guess they figure their time is better spent packing boxes than answering e-mails and phone calls.

I am not saying I agree with this. I am not happy with the way they do business. But that is my best guess as to why some orders go out quickly and others don't.

Order Cancelled. Thanks RW, sorry about that! I really needed the refund $$.
Will try again when funds are +++, just not BFriday!

OK, that should help at least 1 other person get their order sooner...

Maybe me. Yeah!

Wait, Wut? Still at the bottom of the list? Ordered a kit a decade out of production? Dang me to heck.

My CF Mongoose 75 shipped on Monday. Anyone know if the CF version has bevelled fins?

RW is still not answering the phone. Does not respond to emails and has still has not shipped my order. They have had my money for 2 1/2 months now. All I want is a little communication or my order. It seems like a fair request to me but RW doesn't seem to agree.

I almost hate to say it, but this thread is NOT good advertising. As small as the rocketry community is, I would think 'word of mouth', and threads like this, could make or break the vendors here. I understand the 'holiday' sale has got to be an extremely busy time for them, but that, IMO, does not excuse a lack of communication.

It is by the reactions here and a proven excellent reputation, is the reason that I chose the vendor that I did. Customer service and open communication is King!

Honest to God, Jeff, I can't recommend Mike Crupe and MAC Performance highly enough. Most vendors, when I e-mail them, I get a reply two or three days later, and often it is so brief and cryptic that I can't figure out what it means. But when you e-mail Mike, within an hour I get a reply saying, "Call me," and his phone number; and when I call, he picks up right away.

There is at least one of those for RW every holiday sale, and 2-3 others throughout the year. They're known punks going back at least 3 years, maybe longer, but that's where I stopped reading the threads.

I'm going to assume the previous post was directed at me. I just stated my opinion, and I did not bash them in any way. I did not imply, or even name, that 'my vendor is better than your vendor'.

As tempted as I am to delete that post, to not make myself look like a punk, I chose not to. I simply stated my opinion of what I surmised of this thread.

Many potential 'clients' may skim over this thread, and again, --in my opinion-- they are going to remember the people that -complained- more so than the ones that praised.

If you're talking about my post, you assume incorrectly, my post was directed at RW's behavior. Like it or not, they have a history of behavior that's on full display here, in spades. The further back you go in the 'search' function, the worse it looks. Some of the people complaining this year were praising last year, and vice versa.

If you look back a few pages, I even praised them for the products that they finally delivered to me.

Good stuff, bad business practices, unreliable delivery, non-existent communications.

Thank you for clarifying that, I didn't think what I said was malicious in any way.

Your second comment is what hits it on the head... The best product on the planet ain't squat if there is not reliable service or communication.

The fact that people ordered -after- the sale, and received their stuff before the people that have been waiting for -months-, I find tacky. What about the guy that ordered -before- the sale? I'd be furious!

Though to -defend- them, simply picking up the telephone and actually -talking- to them regarding your 'lost order' may have cleared some of this mess up for some.

To your last point, regardless of one's place in line, it seems that there was a clear correlation between actually getting through on the phone (my personal attempts took over 2 dozen phone calls during regular east coast business hours over the course of two weeks) and getting shipped (or at least promised to be shipped) that very day.

That's not customer service, that's squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Just for the record, I am still awaiting my November order from your vendor of choice. Last year, I waited until March. No communication, but none was really needed. I just don't see any value in creating a post about it. No complaints here...just pointing out that I see little to no difference between some of the vendors who have very large holiday sales. On the upside, RW doesn't bill until they ship...and it sounds like most of the RW customers will have their orders before I have mine.

These are small businesses and we know what we are getting into when we participate in the sales...at least we should. We literally swamp them and in return we get bargains. Generally, they do not even have all of the components or raw materials on hand at the time of the sale, so they are also relying on their suppliers.

I hope that we have an early Spring. It sounds like we ALL need to go fly some rockets!

Cheers,
Michael

I agree with that! We're getting stir crazy and crabbier than usual :p

I really didn't mean to make a scene, I'll just leave it be from here. Maybe things will be better for all next time around.

On the upside, RW doesn't bill until they ship.......

Not in my experience, and not based on other posters in this thread.

I can show you in my bank statement where RW was paid 5 weeks before they shipped my product. My product was shipped when I finally got through on the phone and was told that "I have it all, I think, and I'll go ahead and ship you today", otherwise it would have been MORE than 5 weeks.

"On the upside, RW doesn't bill until they ship......." <<< Unfortunately not for me: I ordered a Scarab 54 on January 23, then the money was taken out of my Paypal account on the same day. I've tried calling them and emailing them and have had zero response. It's very frustrating to not hear anything either way.

"Shipped"!

A miserable day at work is otherwise rescued by rockets.

I asked RW to be at the end of their BF deliveries. I hope this means the rest of you have your goodies.
