What did you do rocket wise today?

Yeah the clear would be pretty to many of us that appreciate the aluminum look. It would be hard for me to handle the extra costs of doubling the inventory though unless the demand was higher for them. I could consider a special run of one of the common sizes and do them in clear, hmmm

Started priming my Estes Leviathan. Helped the girlfriend start building her Estes Partizon.

Built a motor mount...
Bought some rockets for some kids that need to learn the hobby...
Bought two bulk pack (B6-4, C6-5) of Estes to launch rockets with said kids and my kids...
Been a busy day. Fins go on the Gizmo XL-DD-5 tomorrow...

Finishing up my RW Rapton 38 and Madcow Frenzy mini. Set up similarly for the av-bay design, but now that I see the limited payload space in the Frenzy mini, my inclination is to do something I haven't done for 15 years, swap the drogue and main locations...

Got in the BP for the coming year from AC Supply. Now if the weather cooperates we can burn some of these day after Christmas. I plan to burn 1/2A through M this year. Definitely going to hedge the flight numbers to the low end of that spectrum.

Finished painting the Leviathan, per girlfriend's color scheme suggestion. Testors One Coat Lacquer. Lime Ice on top, Diamond Dust on the bottom. Not too shabby honey...ImageUploadedByRocketry Forum1450929983.388611.jpg

I bought some more bondo fiberglass from wally world to s make night launch rockets ..

Soldered together another eggfinder and lcd receiver, fiberglassed the LOC EZI65 I've had laying around for years, and ordered more motors from F to L as I finally decided I'm tired of prepping at the field. Next time instead of hurriedly prepping one rocket over the course of a couple hours I'm gonna show up with several ready to go so all I need to do is hook up batteries.

Finally finished decorating my Christmas tree:

Pretty good day today. Opened a huge gift from my dad and inside were the following...
Madcow 2.6" FG Black Brant II, Madcow 2.6" Bomarc, Madcow 4" Sea Wolf and a Madcow 4" PAC-3. I'm thinking the PAC-3 will be a perfect L2 kit since he got the optional removable AV bay. Can't wait to start building! Hope everyone has a great rocketry unwrapping tomorrow!

Well it's officially past midnight over here on the east coast. Merry Christmas rocketry forum.

Watched my kid open his stuff for next season. His Magnum air start project and a couple Blackhawk 38s for the drag race he wants with me.

Not enough A8-3's :)

Just finished soldering the last of the components onto my Eggtimer Quark, plugged in the 9v battery, and it beeped its way through a nominal startup - yea!!!! Very relieved, as I bought it for some smt experience. Wow, those 0805 parts are tiny :eyepop: but thanks to Chris's great instructions & tips, a shaky old man like me can get it done. Just have tweezers, magnifying glasses (multiple helped me), and a loupe.

Big thanks to Chris for a great product and a great sale ($16 for a dual-deploy flight computer!) :headbang:

Finished my NCR Big Brute. I let my 7 yr old son paint it, so there are a few runs, but A) that's how you learn and 2) The perfect finish police won't be able to see the runs on the pad....
Put a layer or three of white on the AAD 54 Interceptor. Now to let it dry and mask off for the bottom color (whatever that may be)...

Adrian

Finished the fillets on the Gizmo...
All built, just need to finish the nosecone and build the electronics sled
Then paint and decals...

Been looking at some micro and mini hybrid motors, not like I have anything different planned for this year! :jaw: What crazy dude decided to convert whip cream cartridges into rocket fuel.

Started assembling the MMT for my 2.6" Madcow FG Black Brant II. Using RocketPoxy for the first time. ImageUploadedByRocketry Forum1451342218.411222.jpgImageUploadedByRocketry Forum1451342234.731421.jpg

Ordered some LED strips and controllers for some new Night Launch rockets ...Super Saucer and a Class 1 flyer as our local club has no waiver at night .

sink.jpg

Spent an hour and a half under kitchen sink installing new faucet for the wife. With TWO trips to two different homo depots, cause of course the first one didn't have long enough supply lines.

Well you ask what does this have to do with ROCKETS???

I didn't have to pay a plumber $300
Now I can spend it on rocket stuff and she can't say a thing  POW!!

The blast off packs have 6 each, and I have about 18 in the box already. Gotta have something for windy days.

O.K. gotcha.

My dad had to order 2 of the A8 bulk packs last season - I think I burned up about 30 of them at just one club launch last July.

Finally got to use my paashe double action airbrush. Not everything is perfect bu I got a nice layer of white last week on my Estes Cobalt and I added the first blue layer today.
