I highly suspect RW's every Friday - Black Friday sales generated many orders that perhaps overwhelmed their packaging & shipping capabilities. Still, it would be very helpful (and appreciated by many) if someone at RW would post a few short comments here to help its customers understand their situation and when they expect to catch up. Something a simple as "we're really backed-up but we expect to finish shipping our orders by ...".

The few minutes it takes to post such a note goes a long way towards customer appreciation, understanding, and most importantly - patience and good will...

I've sent and email out to them, but have yet to hear a response back, their site states both my orders are waiting CC processing. However, I have see both transactions hit my CC, so payment has already been made. Hopefully, soon I will get a shipping notice or a response from my email.

I think everyone who hasn't received their BF orders are in the same situation - payments made, waiting for something... Sadly, my experience is that customer communication is not a high priority. It's a same because they have great rocket kits.

A few years back I didn't receive motors I ordered from another vendor until late February credit card charged immediately. AMW was great last year. Didn't order any motors this year because I haven't burned much with loosing the field.

I have had excellent communication with RW and my Osprey is scheduled to be here tomorrow.

I received my Mongoose Tuesday because it sat at the post office in a town about 15 miles from me an extra day. They did deliver it at 8 in the morning before regular mail. Overall communication with Rocketry Warehouse has been great.

Sounds about right. USPS - literally - has had 4 trucks in our neighborhood which is quite unusual since there's only one on a typical day. The multiple trucks have dedicated missions it seems. Pickup. Drop off. Deliver regular mail. Everything else in between.

My Terminator finally arrived, sorry all the slots and rest of the kit are perfect, no sign of the issues you've noted.

That's good to hear - must have just been a slip of the saw. Hopefully they can just cut me a new airframe. The rest of the kit looks perfect.

I just sent email #3 with no response yet, but I'll try the phone on Monday.

I have not completely unpacked my T5, but I did pull out the lower yellow BT and the nosecone just to get an idea of the scale of the kit. I did not notice any issue with the fin slots as you describe. At first I thought that the aluminium tip was bonded to the FG nosecone. But I was able to unscrew it. I plan on using a length of all thread to as an anchor for the NC attachment. I did not completely unwrap the fins but taking a peek it looks like there is a nice symmetrical bevel to the leading edges. After I unbox and wash all the parts, I will do a dry fit to see how everything goes together.

Others who bought the Terminator 5 - did you notice any problems with the fin slots on the main body tube? Mine has discolored spots at the back end of each slot (as if the fiberglass had been twisted / stressed) and one has a crack in the tube, perpendicular to the slot. I'm trying to get in touch with RW to see if they'll replace it.

Osprey arrived. It is destined to be a sustainer with the Wildman in the background as the booster.

was that Email, PM, or by phone?

Inquiring minds want to know, because in several orders, I have YET to have a single response to email or phone messages. Just one day, seemingly at random, my order gets processed, and then sometime later, my stuff shows up. No rhyme or reason to the delay time or response time.

These kits from RW don't come with any U-Bolts or Eyebolts for the payload/AV bays, Correct?

Thanks & Seasons Greetings!

Correct, many BF and BS kits come as builder kits.... what is listed in the description is what your receive... nose cone, tubes, etc.... everything is builded supplied - recovery, hardware, electronics, epoxy, etc.

Finished this weekend and had great time with the family and all the Christmas events.

Anyone open their 29mm mongoose? I am trying to figure out a shock cord mount. I think I might be missing a few parts.

In my kit was the body tube, nose cone, coupler, bulkplate, three fins, and two fin guides.

Hopefully what I learned from my phone conversation with RW this morning will help those waiting for their BF orders know the RW staff is working hard to fulfill and ship those orders - and I am in the same "boat" as you...

As expected RW received many more BF orders than expected. Many have been shipped, and the RW staff is working as I write this on the remaining backlog. Floyd took ill (and still is) during this period, which added to the shipping problem. He has his son-in-law, and another person, fulfilling the orders.

Many of us waiting for our orders have emailed RW - some on a frequent basis - and received no answer. As explained to me, the RW staff can devote time answering our emails, or package & ship our orders. They opted for the latter. I know an unanswered email is frustrating, but at least you now know their situation.

FWIW, RW did not ask me to post this information. I asked them if I could in the hope that it might help. I did this because I feel they provide good products, offer great sales, and wanted to support them - asking nothing in return...

My 54 came with 2 small pieces of coupler and a bulkhead to make a anchor for the recovery system. It does not appear that the 29 mm came with these.

Thanks for this. I had e-mailed and called once each, but didn't want to bug them too much because I figured the situation was something like this. Finally came this morning to check in on this thread, and glad I did. I'm just glad my Mongoose 75 wasn't an Xmas gift for someone else =P

Yeah mine did not come with any recovery anchor system either. The FWCF tubing is pretty sweet though, as is the 2-piece nosecone!

Thanks for the info, RW has always been a great vendor, and I have purchased most of my items from them for years. I do hope that Floyd is feeling better.

You're welcome, glad it helped.

To say they're busy is an understatement. Although they answered the phone quickly, I was asked to wait while they completed some part of shipping process for someone's order so they wouldn't get sidetracked and make a mistake.

Another thing I learned is that their body tube vendor cut one section of tubing too short and had to redo the tubing order - adding to the delay for a particular rocket kit (don't know which).

From what I see on the RW website, the 29mm Mongoose does not come with any hardware, whereas the 54R2 & the 75 R2SE Mongoose does - #10 All thread, Lock Nuts, Stainless Forged Eye-bolts, and Sled.

Thank you for posting this. I figured there was some sort of delay. Of course, a 2 minute post would have been nice but oh well. At least I know I will soon have a package on the way :)
