Whats on the menu? Also I was woundering,Does anybody bring in strangers or the less fotunate. Work at food banks, kitchen help ect? I could do more I will admit for others on Thanksgiving ( and all year) After finding out my brother has brain cancer it sure has made me see things in a different way and appreciate life on a dif level and realize how GOOD my life is. As its been said "Sometimes people need a wake-up call" My call came in, Ill tell ya that for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wanted to do multipal choice but messed that up. Maybe "mod" could fix that for me????? Cuz we do Turkey and Ham

Not on the list but one year my sister-in-law did a goose.

Yuck! Greasy and over $5 a pound. Never again!

Come to our launch site and follow the geese who hang out (there's a lake nearby) to see what comes out of them (and how much!!!). :y:

I go over to a friend's dinner, and he always does one turkey, gets a deep fried turkey from Copeland's (a "New Orleans" restaurant), and a Honeybaked Ham.

The only time I can ever remember *not* having a turkey for Thanksgiving was about 6 years ago, when a friend of my mother-in-law managed to convince her that a "capon" was just a small turkey (and not a castrated male chicken). It only took a few bites to convince us -- "this isn't turkey -- it's chicken!" Not that it was bad, mind you...just unexpected.

Probably turkey, but I don't know for sure. It's up to my cousin, who's cooking the dinner. Definitely not Chinese because that's what my wife feeds me 2 to 3 times a day.

A poll choice for "other" would be good. The last few years we had duck, which I like a lot better than turkey, but this year we're inviting a lot more family over so we'll do the traditional turkey.

Never thought about cooked goose. We raised "yard geese" back when I was a kid.Ya know the white ones that sh!t all over and squake all day. MEAN ,NASTY BIRDS. They were better than having a watch dog.One day a dog came over to mess with them, ha ha ha They "Geese" beat the living crap out of that dog. NO LIE!!!!!!Their wing "elbows" (?)can break a mans shin like its nothing.

I tried to edit the poll but no luck with that.still good to hear what types of food people have on Thanksgiving. It is interesting.

TurDuckEn.
A turkey, stuffed with a Duck, stuffed with a Chicken, with sausage stuffing between the layers.

I've got 4 frozen turkeys in the freezer right now - holiday gifts from my employer from the last 4 years. Love to eat turkey - hate to cook it!

*sigh*
Living with a vegetarian that dislikes Thanksgiving I usually end up fixing something for myself, which is not really that special.
One thing for sure, we are having sweet potato casserole with pecans and brown sugar scorched on top.
:D

Thanksgiving has always been more traditional for my family (before and after marraige); some years Ham did make it to the table but it was usually a bird. Christmas is when we get creative with the holiday meals; one year I did a marinated pork loin roast that was VERY tasty. We're traveling to my mother-in-laws this year and she or my brother-in-law that lives nearby usually do a traditional Thanksgiving with Turkey and maybe Ham too(depending on crowd size). It'll be a nice trip, my MIL and I get along rather well.

In college (where I went people came from all over the country) I learned that some actually have Lasagna for Thanksgiving. Usually those coming from strong Italian backgrounds. Maybe you could have that added to the poll and see if it gets any votes.

On the crazy side, there's a guy on the radio in my area that talks about having TurCockaMel for Thanksgiving (making fun of TurDuckEn which sounds good to me). TurCockaMel is a Turkey stuffed inside of a Cockatoo stuffed inside a Camel (yes in that order):y:.

Have fun with that one guys, he usually does.

Don't forget the famous Mish-Mash-Mush side dish trifecta of Smashed Parsnips, Turnips, and Rutabagas.
It's a REAL TREAT.

Deep Fried Cows Lips....they fry up into a big brown smile for the holiday!

No really....

The turkey and ham with all the trimmings...The rest of the family usually has Bud and Jack Daniels with their football . And for commercials a good argument over stuff they will never remember. If your on the highway between Laramie, Wyo. and Ft.Collins, CO on Thanksgiving....Watch out for any pickups coming head on! Kinda Hug the shoulder on your side , or their side which ever seems most prudent....

Have a great Thanksgiving Rocket Buds!
