So, my buddy inherited his uncle's rocketry stuff after he passed. He never got to do it with his uncle, so we're planning on launching some of his toys in the future. I have a few questions.

-First off is a ISP 38/360 casing with fore and aft closures. It's in good condition. I would assume that AT 38/360 reloads will fit this, but I'd like some confirmation. Also, will any currently produces closures fit this case?

-Second, we found some old AT motors that have 4 and 5 digit batch or date codes on them. The motors have been stored in a dry place and appear to be in good condition. Any ideas on these?

-And third, we found a few feet of what I thought was fuse, but we lit a small piece and the first flame went over the outside, then the inner core burned hot and down it's length. Upon further inspection, it has steel wire twisted into it. What the heck is this stuff? Pictures below, because as we are all aware, without pictures, these kinds of threads are useless.

Yes, the ISP stuff is compatible with modern AT stuff...ISP is/was the parent company of AT way back then. Used to have some ISP cases myself. Closures are also cross compatible as well.

That 'fuse' stuff you have is good old (and I do mean old) Thermalite!! That, you gotta hang onto (or better yet, 'give' to someone with a LEUP, since that's currently regulated stuff). Great stuff, and I'm sure an olde timer would really like having that!

Those single use AT motors look to be early 90's vintage. Used a ton of those back then. That F14J has been discontinued for quite some time, though. If you're planning to use them, please check to ensure that the ejection charge has NOT leaked out from under the paper caps! (Happens) Also, being loose like that, you've got to make sure you can still slide an igniter, er initiator, up its core. Hopefully not swelled up bad.

Reminds me of the old low serial numbered AT branded 38mm motor I lost a few months ago...maybe it'll turn up at TTRA.

Also found an old Flight Systems Inc 12v controller (igniter clips missing) and a AT D21-10. He also inherited about 6 rockets and 8 or so 'chutes. Lots of toys!

Anyone know if the new AT 38mm spacers will work in the ISP case?

Echoing what the other guys have said...the ISP case is the exact same thing as the AT/RouseTech cases today. Anything you'd buy for an AT/RouseTech 38/360 can be used in the ISP 38/360.

With one small exception;

The aft closure opening will be smaller than some of the newer aft closures.
This was changed when the I 435, J 350, and the J 570 loads came out.
To be able to accommodate the larger nozzles.

Thanks for your help guys. As far as the aft closure goes, I'll make sure I get another when I get a longer case.

Beat me to it... There's a similar circumstance with older 29mm aft closures. At one of our last launches a customer tried to build an I200W in a 360 casing using a Dr. Rocket aft closure. Well, the aft closure simply wouldn't fit around the nozzle. I happened to have some fresh 29mm hardware on hand and grabbed an aft closure for comparison. Sure enough the I200W nozzle fit with no problem. I don't recall when these larger 29-360 reloads were released but I'm guessing a similar history with respect to the I435, J350 and J570's.

Dang...forgot about those...I've been out of the game for too long, I guess...lol

Well, none of those larger nozzle reloads fit in the 38/360 case. It'll be on my list. Now to pick up a set of the 38mm spacers.
