I had to repair my bsg viper's boudy tube by cutting it right before the canopy. and splice in a new peace. now that i'm getting ready to repaint her. how do i hide the seam. I did a search but only came up with spirals. right not i have been working whiteglue into the seam and sanding it down will that be ok?

I would sand with 180 grit at the seam. When it's near smooth, soak a bit of CA in it to stiffen everything, then sand more. Keep sanding until you think it's smooth. Then apply some wood filler at the seam, sand it down with 180-220 grit until most of it is smooth. Then go at it with 300+ grit until smooth. Prime it, sand the primer, sand or fill any imperfections, prime, repeat until completely smooth. It's a painstaking process but at the end, if done right, it's a flawless seam.

The important thing is to eliminate any possibility of flex around the joint so whatever you use for filler doesn't get popped out. I've had good luck with using yellow glue for joint, then using CA soaked into the surrounding areas after the yellow glue dries. I then use FNF to fill the gap. Of course, I sand down to the bare tube prior to using the FNF, otherwise it's likely to not bond as well and want to flake off.
