How high have you gone?

New personal record. Broke my old record at XPRS 2008 with an Aerotech M1850W in my Performance Rocketry Competitor 4 to 18,600 feet and change.

Here is a launch picture by CLS.

Missile Works altimeter says 10,430 feet on a K motor in a 3" diameter bird. That's my highest to get back.

Highest flight ever was never recovered. Somewhere around 14,000 feet in a staged 3" cluster. We lost the smoke tracking and never saw it again.

I was darn close to the Moon two days ago after the building I was in caved

in due to a structure fire, thank GOD for firefighter helmets !

First there was one star then two and so on.

to find her right next to a big honkin' swamp...

at XPRS (the day after Aaron's excellent flight, above) on CTI N1100 my Mongoose 98 got 33,891' - baro reported by GWiz MC. The integrated accelerometer was not very different (35k'), which means the flight was pretty much straight up. we heard it a long time but didn't see it after about 2 seconds. it flew in to a layer of haze and disappeared. GWiz MC reports Mach 1.7. heh.

there's only one project that can best this, something so cool, so ultimate, so unreal, so unbelievable, that I must fly it first thing Saturday AM: a just-built Fliskits TOG on MMX-1 motor. maybe for 2nd flight I can bum an MMX-2 motor for some real high-power experience.



I already voted in this thread's poll. my previous best height was 9800' with the 10" Nike on M1939.
