I like my "Rocket Rage" 'chute, but I just have one I move between rockets. For the rest of my rockets I was using mostly Top Flight 'chutes (mainly due to availability but they are good parachutes). But now my wife is making smaller 'chutes for me. Her name wasn't included in the poll. :)

I prefer SkyAngle. I have several in different sizes. Although spherachutes makes a nice product as well and good to use when packing space is at a premium.

I bought a SkyAngle specifically for my biggest rocket (thus far), my PML Endeavour, and I like it. Although I have one of those things at the bottom of the list too, an LDRS.

Lawn Dart Recovery Shovel.

Okay, I thought it was funny. :D

I had an Anchor Parachute and was very pleased with it.
Good workmanship.
Great service.
The owner has/had over 20 years in the US Army.

Only problem I had with the chute was the last time I flew it.
It did it's job too well and didn't come down fast enough.
And everything just floated away.

:cry::cry::cry:

But it looked good while it did it.

:D

I voted for my fave, Rocket Rage 'chutes. The pack in a very small amount of space, and they look awesome coming down. But I want to buy another chute, and I havent been able to get ahold of Carl for weeks. No replies to my voicemails or my emails =( Anyone heard from him lately?

Cris

99.9 % of the time I fly Topflite, but I love what Spherachutes has done for me and my next custom order will be with them....

I do like the look of Rocketman though....love to try them.

Tried Rocket Rage again tonight and got ahold of Carl... as always he was very nice & helpful. Will be purchasing his RRQS100 for my L3 rocket. I highly recommend him and his products =)

I've been using Spherachutes for just about everything large and small (HPR anyway). They are reasonably priced, quality made, and priced right. And shipped quickly.

While I love both spherachutes and skyangle, only one brand has truly impressed me beyond all others - rocket rage. I own their 15, 30, and 50 lb rated chutes, and would reccommend them to anyone. Wonderful products.

Is HALO a brand of rocketry chutes, or is that High Altitude, Low Opening? Either way, where can I buy / get information on them?

Cris

I noticed that too - was looking to see if they had anything in the 70-100lb range. I will stick with my Rocket Rage chutes.

I personally prefer my own chutes... But there again I am just now getting into mid-power. I guess that is probably my favorite thing about this hobby is the fact that you can build EVERYTHING. I wish you had included that catagory.

I've standardized on Top Flight's X-form chutes for my MR to Level-II projects. They are the only parachutes I've ever used that have never failed to open immediately upon ejection. I've made over a hundred flights using every size Top Flight makes with a 100% deployment rate.

Well, in spite of my (much) earlier post mentioning my SkyAngle chute I bought last year, I now have another favorite, my shiny new RocketRage RRQS50 chute (approx. 12 feet across) that I received just this past Monday.

Problem is, I couldn't figure out how to refold it once I pulled it out of the d-bag it was shipped in. Lo and behold, today a Google search yielded a document giving detailed folding instructions for a commercially-available reserve chute for skydivers, of the same basic design as the RocketRage Quantum parachutes (dome shape with apex line running up the center to the "spill hole"). For those of you with RocketRage chutes who could use a tip on how to refold your chute, check this out.

I'm going to try it out myself this evening after work.

Apogee chutes have always done the job for me
Also have a top flight chute that I will be trying for the first time soon

I liked the 48" Fruity Chute that I used for my L1. Since that's the only chute I've tried all I can say is that it worked. Descent rate was pretty close to the sim

Art, nice to meet you! Do you know whatever happened to Halo Aerospace?

The owner of HALO chutes back then , that made them larger then just 20# that Miller Motor Works Stocked, was a HALO Jumper in Live combat 1990s ; Hence the name. They no longer make chutes but I still have a #20 pounder

I didn't know there were so many different brands of chutes until I read this thread. And the thread being 13 years old, I guess Halo is no longer in business.

There Crossfire line is a great L3 chute.

That's a great story and it's great you still have the chute! Take care!
