Well, I am sure more than just me have done what I did this afternoon!:rotflol: I cruised over to HobbyLinc's website to order a couple of packs of D12's and ended up ordering a WHOLE lot more! In addition to the D12's, I ordered:

1 3-pak D24-7T 18MM RMS
1 3-pak D9-4W 24MM RMS
1 E23-5T 29MM RMS
1 3-pak F24-7W 24MM RMS
1 3-pak F39-6T 24MM RMS
2 F40-7W 29MM RMS
1 G64-7W 29MM RMS

A total of 16 reloads!:surprised:

Will go with my current inventory of reloads:

24MM
E11-3J 1 3-pak
E18-4W 1 3-pak
E28-4T 1 3-pak
E28-7T 1 3-pak

29MM
E16-7W 2
F52-8T 1
G71-10R 3

Guess my motor budget for '07 is busted now! :p Anyone else go bonkers like this? C'mon, come clean, we won't make fun you.....too much!

Although I am AM/EX oriented, I did place an order this past Friday for this small purchase:

(1) 29/40-120 Case (Rouse Tech)
(1) 24/40 also Rouse Tech
(1) 3-pack E18 reloads
(1) G64-7
& (1) F22-5 my Arreaux (pronounced Aero)

Not much, but I am still rebuilding my lost stash from years ago...

Johnnie

It's happened a few times. Actually, it's happened *most* times. Whenever I intend to order kits and supplies, a few packs of motors find their way in the order. Last time, I ordered from Commonwealth (great service by the way - thanks!) I ordered 4 or 5 packs of A3's and a pack of D13's and D24's.:D

I called Commonwealth displays about their DR Rocket 29/180. The price was much better then the Areotech or Rouse Tech motors. The Dr Rockets were out so I got the Rouse Tech motor.

Since he had a lot of Dr Rocket 38mm left I ended up getting the 38mm set, 38/120, 240, and 480 cases, closures, and seal disk.

Guess I'll have to get some 38mm rockets now.

I usually buy my engines in Toronto (a 2.5 hour drive for me), so I tend to buy large quantities. On my last trip there it was:
Bulk Pack of B6-0/B6-6
Pack of D12-0
2 Packs of B4-4
2 Packs of B6-2
2 Packs of B4-2
When I'm back in February or March, I'll probably pick up another bulk pack (maybe a mix of A's, B's, and C's), some D12-7's, and maybe some mini-engines. I've been thinking about trying some reloads, too, but I haven't decided if they're worth the hassle for the small number of flights I would use them for.

I know what you mean, Pantherjon. I bought some F and G reloads for
my new 29/40-120 motor recently, and with the free shipping it came
to about $50. After the package arrived, I was looking at the five motors
spread out on my desktop and - just for a minute - thought about all the
black powder motors I could buy with $50. Then I thought about all the
noise, smoke, and fun I would have with these and it seemed ok.

Jeff

Speaking of smoke and reloads ; I'm waiting for a few G53FJ reloads. Hopefully they'll show in time for the New Years day launch.:D

One of my recent fall trips to HL was to buy motors for the Cub Scout launch (12 boys and a handful of adults). I was trying to cover every eventuality and WAY over bought but ended up with nearly $100 worth of BP motors (don't tell my wife).;)

We should be well stocked for anything my boys and I want to get into in the spring.

Unless I decide to strt flying E's and F's...:D

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. My most recent trip included a pack of micro motors so a) I can use them in the spring on rockets that can be built this winter and b) because I designed the fin pods on my most recent rocket to be hollow so I could eventually mount micros in the pods...

Me ? - Uh No - Never . . just spent only $60 on my last order to Hobylinc . .

But this seems to be a perfectly healthy obsession . . er . uh . . addictiion . . activity.
Don't worry about the motor budget - you can always sell the pet dog . .. or maybe some of your wife's shoes ! . .

Or I could sell all of her Mary-Kay luggage!:p That would GUARANTEE an extended stay in the doghouse with my dogs!:rotflol:

D15-7T
E18-7W
F12-3J
F12-5J
F24-4W
F39-9T

I think I got 'em all now...lol..

Glad I got that additional tool/range box! I now have one for 13/18mm motors, one for 24mm and one for 29mm..There has GOT to be a 12 Step program for this affliction! Run for the hills or you too will be infected!

I just picked up about 25 packs of A8-3 and C6-3 from Walmart's clearance aisle (I hit two different stores - one near the office and one near home) :D The A10-3T, C6-5 and C6-7 are still full price....

Hi everyone! They call me the Breeze, and I'm a motorholic. It's been 60 days since my last motor purchase.

I bought several RMS reloads; 3-G64, 3-f39, 3-F24, 6-D13. and of course a 25pack box of C6-5's for good measure.

I'm OK. I got my fix over the weekend. Got some F20W and F27R SU motors. Now I need green......:D

Al

I couldn't say how many reloads I have exactly, but my 100Lb type 3 is maxed out. and I don't store anything over 54mm. those I just buy and fly.

edit: I take that back I do have a 105mm EX, but its in process so its not in my day box.

What did you get them for on clearance??? Go on make the rest of us envious!:p

Whew! And what does this tell you? Well, it tells me:YOU DON'T LAUNCH NEARLY AS OFTEN AS YOU SHOULD!!:rotflol:

**A note on some of the extra letters, they represent the manufacturer..
AP= Apogee
Q= Quest
RR= Road Runner

The rest I think you can figure out..It's either Estes or Aerotech!

And here is the visual:
MotorMadness005.jpg

3 tool boxes for the motor and hardware..Front right box is the 18MM box, front left is the 24MM box and the back one is the 29MM box...I think one word sums this up: crazy....and broke..And I have these enroute to me:
D13-7W
D13-10W
D24-10T
F52-8T

Woah, I don't have anywhere near even a fourth of that. Maybe 1/8 of your stash. So...umm...since you have all those motors sitting around...err...can I have some?;)

So, for the real question:
Did you buy them at a sale or something? That must be over $750 worth of motors.

It's not about what you have, but rather what you burn.

My last buy was A's B's, D12's, and some C11's. Maybe 60-70 in all. Stocks were low. My AP stocks remain barely touched, though I try to burn at least one AP motor per launch.

I have to work hard to burn 80 to 100 motors a year. More like 60-70.

Sigh.

Getting more into cluster though. So there is hope

Ummm, come to Orangeburg to one of our launches and I could do that..;)

Well, it would have to be the 'or something' answer! I just tend to 'get things' not taking into account that I already have some of the things already that I am getting..If that even makes sense!

And that shelf behind the tool boxes is where the bulk packs I got are..Here is the picture again with that area noted as to what is what..I plan to launch a bunch this next week..Plan to, hopefully it happens, as long as the weather plays nice..lol..

Thanks!:)

Would love to go to ST '08..But doesn't fit in my schedule with work and available vacation time :(

But I AM going to NSL '08! 3 days of launches! I should be able to burn up a lot of BP and AP there!
