To All,
Consider this a puplic place for any comments regarding the sale of EMRR. I'm going to kick this off with a few comments of my own:
1) EMRR has been and still is an absolute pleasure to me. It has been "recreational" and has relieved many-a-day stresses by allowing me to have fun, program and use the logical side of my head, have contests to use the creative side of my head, marvel at what people do in the hobby and in the contest entries, and to give back to the rocket community.
2) In choosing a buyer, it is important to me to choose someone that has a historical and demonstrated passion for rocketry and the skills AND TIME to manage the site. It is my fullest intention to provide on-going, long term, technical support for the future owner. There are (6) people interested. Some I know "virtually" and some I do not know at all.
3) EMRR has been a not-for-profit site. The costs of EMRR have increased due to the server/bandwidth demand by running the site on a PERL based system.
4) Currently the site runs on a VPS hosted by inmotionhosting. The new owner will need to need to transfer the site to a new server.
5) The assets/goodwill of EMRR will include the rocketreviews.com, myemrr.com, and modelminutes.us (if wanted). All files, support files and tools to manage the site. All backup DVD's. It will also include the remaining months (until 4/11) of the Bravenet email manager list subscription.
6) Prizes for ALL contests including the EMRR 2010 Challenge will be provided as secured and posted on the site.
7) The rights to produce "EMRR on DISC", "EMRR Calendar", "EMRR Blog", and CafePress EMRR store front will move to the new owner.
8) I will retain all rights to "Essence Aerospace Technologies" model kits and perhaps will gain some time to actually produce a couple of new ones. Anyone remember the Lambda Shuttle?
9) NO EMAILS, ADDRESSES or any other private information will be transferred to the new owner.
10) I'd love to see EMRR continue to succeed and thrive. I plan on contributing additional reviews in the near future!
