Does anybody have any ideas for a replacement engine for the Aerotech F21-6 engines. I know they are out of production and not even sure if they will come back.
I have an Executioner that i want to launch on these babies but i can't get motors.
I want to retain the stock 24mm engine mount in the Executioner ....hence the need for F21's.
Any suggestions for a suitable..similar replacement?

Thanks.......

Well, you could get a 24mm rms and fly it on F24s!

I second the RMS statement!

You can also use F12Js... F39Ts (they don't CATO, if you hear a loud explosion-like sound... :D )... And the F24s, of course. The motors are around $7 each (but only come in packs of 3 for around $21)

That same casing would also open you up to E18s as well - my Executioner loves the E18!

BRS Hobbies has them Here.

Excelent service too.

EDIT -- What I should have said you can find the F21-6 at BRS Hobbies.

All very good suggestions but i would rather not spend the $45 on an engine housing and then reloads and risk losing the rocket.
I was hopefully looking for single use engine replacement that would give me more zip then the Estes "e" engines and be in the $25 dollar range(for 2). Ant other Aerotech single use engines that are easier to find and give comparable performance?

Which delay? I still can get some of the longer I belive, just not for long

Thanks for the help "Countdown" but it seems that everything i am looking for you are out of stock in.
Any other suggestions?
Does anybody know when Aerotech will be manufacturing these engines again?

Not only do they blow up, but they will not reply to e-mails when you try to report the problems so they can take appropriate quality control actions.

Ellis Mountain has some F20's and F23's both 24mm. All I can say is good luck getting them lit, and if you do, hope that it won't CATO. I've had experience with both failures. https://www.geocities.com/ellismountain/

they responded to mine, but they weren't very nice. he said that they will light every time and not blow up if you use *his* ignitors, which are available at www.alshobbyshop.com
if this is true, then why don't they include ignitors with their motors? it only makes since if it is the only ignitor that will have 100% success with the motors (which i also highly doubt that they will work all the time)

Kyle.

Why not get the RMS casing? If you were willing to spend $30 per package of 2 for F21's, then why not jump at the chance to pay $21 per 3 pack. It will pay for itself in 5 or 6 flights. I started RMS over a year ago, and have never looked back.

Because with my luck...I would spend the $50 for the casing and then $30 for reloads and end up losing the rocket on the first or second flight. Good-bye RMS Casing and my money.
I will just quickly snatch up what F21's are left and hope they make them again very soon.
Thanks everybody for their suggestions....I really appreciate all the help.
Now i'm off to find a really big field to fly this sucker.

One ejected casing can send a rocket flyer into a year long depression.

There should be support groups for these poor souls.

So far, I've lost two 29mm 40/120 casings; both in rockets that floated off over the horizon, never to be found again. I have since replaced them, and continue to fly RMS. The possibility of loosing an RMS casing is just a fact of life with rocketry. You understand it, and accept it as a fact of life if you fly a great deal.

Best Regards

Ah yes...this thread brings up some interesting and valid points. tquigg makes a very good point about it being a part of life in rocketry. The description "consumer minded rocketeer" creates an oxymoron of sorts. Hobbies have redeeming qualities but at a price not reconcileable with the finance conscious type.

I say, go with the RMS. If your experiences with this hobby have been losing rockets as a normal occurrence - perhaps to small fields, tree lines, lakes, etc. - then perhaps SU is the course to stay.

buy em up quick they are starting to disapear slowly form distributors as well...

the down side to replacing these with RMS is that a lot of people just dont want the investment due to.. well... TREES!!! but if you have a good spot where you wont lose it go with RMS
