Ok, let's get the discussion thread started.

I'm going to try to get three at NARCON if I can. One for me as a regular kit, one as a present for my parents, and one for a very special project.

The special project needs some explanation.

My grandfather was an amazing man. He was a Medal of Honor winner in WWII. He was a machinist by trade, working with aircraft tolerances. He also enjoyed woodworking, making many projects in his life.

Ok, that last sentence is wrong. He didn't do woodworking. The man could make a saw dance and a chisel sing an opera.

On October 10, 1993 he finished a project. A lighthouse. And he set it out onto the lawn. It was beautiful. I would say his best yet.

On October 13th, he went to the hardware store to buy the wood for his next project. He never left the store. He suffered a fatal heart attack in the store.

On October 30th, a bunch of drunk kids on Hell Night took a baseball bat to the lighthouse, turning it into kindling. Fortunately, the kids were caught, and they all served time. The judge threw the book at them, he was so angry.

When I saw this kit coming out, I knew I had to try and recreate the lighthouse. I know I don't have his skill, but I'm gonna try. And then I'll give it to my parents.

That's really cool, I've been designing a Lighthouse rocket myself, but as usual Jim's is really cool looking. Can't wait to get a hold of one of these. It also mentions Fliskits introducing 2 maybe 3 new kits......:D

I think that is a great way for you to honor his memory, and I'm sure he would be smiling at the idea.

Very cool project you have planned there. Glad those kids were caught. Hopefully they learned something.

As for the Nantucket Sound, the documentation is done and has gone through the first of 2 proof readings (proofed by someone other than me).

I am currently ordering parts for the initial build of 150 kits.

I am delivering a boiler plate kit this weekend for an evaluation build. This will complete the "dotting of the i's and crossing of the t's, as it were :) )

I have put a list together of the NARCON give-away's in the NARCON 2009 thread

This weekend (at a CATO launch) I will have some flight data on the Nantucket Sound with E motors. Right now I have the documentation restricting it to C and D motors. Hopefully I will get a good flight. Just hope I don't have to muck through too much mud, slush and water to recover it... :)

Yeah, its going to be cool. Just have to figure out how to simulate the roofing tiles he used. Maybe do a fleck paint type thing. Could always do a drybrush thing as well.

That sounds like an outstanding project/tribute Mystical! ;)
