Here's my Borealis the I finally got around to building.
I've had this kit since it first came out.
I decided it was time to build some of the FlisKits that I've had for a long time.
So far I've done the Acme Spitfire. Next will be the Farscape/Night Whisper. Mine is the Farscape, I bought it before Jim had to change the name. ;)
I guess the Decim8 that I just got will have to age a few years before I build it. :)

That paintjob is fracking SWEET!!! Even though it says no wadding required, put some in, I had a chute fry my first time out and almost lost one of the coolest rockets on the planet!! I love my borealis!!

Tony,

Looking good, as expected :) Can't wait to see it in person! I have to get my latest one in the paint booth... LOL

Love the color scheme. Now I'm going to have to go fly mine to death so I can do another one, inspired by what you've done.

Thanks Jim.
I plan to bring it to NARCON so you'll get to see it then. :)

Thanks Chan.
I like it too. :)

You've created another work of art.

Where did you get the decals? Are they available?

Tony,

Great job as usual. I really like that color red you used. I guess I'll get to see it at NARCON.

Thanks. :)
The decals come with the kit.

It never occured to me that they would. I thought that with rare exceptions, we were on our own for color and graphic stuff.

In that case, kudos on the build and the paint and decal placement and kudos to Fliskits for providing the decals.

Incidentally, dusted off my old set of Babylon 5 season 2 after being inspired also by your avatar. Thanks for the memories!

Flew the Borealis yesterday at the CMASS launch.
Great boost on a C6-3 but the chute was grabbed by the ring fins and came in on a slow dive. The damage was miner, a few glue joints here and there. Looking at the rocket you can't tell.

That's Jim getting a launch pic. :)

Yeah - that's happened to me a couple of times too (before my Borealis shredded - I have another in the build pile). It seems like if the rocket has any forward velocity at ejection, the toothpicks in the middle of the ring fins can catch the chute and prevent a full deployment.

"...the toothpicks in the middle of the ring fins...", oh, you mean the "Chute Catcher"... :D

Here's the pix I got. Just LOVE this rocket!

So that must be you on the ground! I was afraid someone was wounded until I saw the camera.
