Last week I ordered Star Trek TOS season 1 bluray from Bestbuy.com.

They shipped it via UPS and conveniently sent me the tracking number.
Since I really want to see the Romulan's in high def I've been watching the progress. Yesterday it was at the distribution center 2 towns away, so I figured I'd be watching Kirk and co this morning.

I just checked the tracking to see when it will be here, low and behold UPS claims it has been delivered! 45 min ago!

Hmmm, it's not here. I guess it's easy for brown to deliver on time when they just make it up!

If it shows as delivered, then there was a delivery scan made somewhere.

Have you checked to see if it got left on your porch somewhere, without someone ringing the doorbell? I've had that happen before -- checked the status of a package, to find it had been delivered. Went out, looked on the porch, and voila! This has happened with companies other than UPS, as well as UPS.

Otherwise, it may well have been mis-delivered.

UPS tracking has been quite accurate for me, USPS on the other hand, useless.

You mean the fact that USPS doesn't show it was "delivered" until at least a week after the package arrives isn't useful information?!?! :y:

Yeah, USPS tracking is horrible. I've had great experiences with both FedEx and UPS tracking, though.

Nope, I went out and walked around. No package.

I've seen this before, but only a matter of minutes. I always guessed the driver logged it as delivered as he was en route. 1 hr and 10 min now.

I've had issues with UPS before, but never a tracking error.

Ok, this is weird. I was looking at the tracking history closer, and it says that UPS transferred the package to USPS on saturday! and the postal service says it was delivered! Strange, I'll go look in my mail box...

Unlike the rest of you, I have had great success with USPS tracking.

It was in the mailbox after all. The regular mail has not been delivered.

I guess they were on time after all.

Same here except for one time when the UPS tracking said the package should be delivered on a certain date and had tracked to Houston (but never as "out for delivery"). When the delivery date came and went and the displayed expected delivery date disappeared, I notified the shipper to ping UPS about the package location.

UPS located the package upstream in the tracked route and I got it about 4 days later.

USPS has been worthless for anything not sent as registered mail. :(

I wondered how the OP could possibly not know but then I remembered.
Not many English letterboxes are a 15-minute drive from the front door. They're usually in it.

So does "transferred to USPS" mean UPS just stuck it in your mailbox? I don't think that is even legal. My recollection is that mailboxes are for official USPS use only. Kind of hard to imagine UPS having a deal worked out with USPS allowing them to do that, being the competition and all.

OTOH, it wouldn't bother me one hoot if UPS stuck my packages in my rural mailbox instead of leaving them on my porch. They would be out of sight and out of the weather. Besides, I paid for and put up the mailbox, so why should USPS have a say in how it can be used?

No, It said UPS delivered it to the central postal facility in my area and then the post office took over delivery. I did not know UPS and the USPS had an interline agreement. I'm assuming that the post office delivered it, but I did not see the drop. It seems a strange arrangement to me.

Yeah, I have had that happen on a couple of occasions for me too..Vendor syas it was shipped via UPS, I track it..UPS site says it is on time with delivery to be on XX day..That day shows, I go to UPS site it says transferred to USPS for delivery, and it was there that day in the regular mail..Personally I haven't had problems with either the Fedex, UPS or even USPS tracking info being off..Only thing I don't like is when something is shipped to me USPS priority mail with 'delivery confirmation' only as tracking..Guess I am just AR about tracking shipments..

I've haven't had any issues with their tracking, I never had the UPS to USPS transfer deal either. Sometimes wrong tracking numbers have been given out. I had this happen when ordering some computer memory, it turned out to be someone else s tracking number delivered by FexEx...
