The first flight after a long hiatus was not very auspicious. The winds were high, probably too high, but it had been way to long since I had launched anything and even longer since my last club launch.

THe first launch of the day was the Yellow Menace, a 13mm Art Applewhite monocopter. I loaded it with a 1/2A3-2 and set it near the top of the rod. I didn't set it near enough the top. It never made it off the rod.

Not having yet learned my lesson, I decided to recycle and try again. It time I used an A3-4 and set it even closerto the top of the rod. This time it did what it was supposed to do. It wasn't the greatest flight ever but did better than I expected with 20mph winds.

A video of the successful flight can be seen here: https://flickr.com/photos/23694991@N03/3279436369/

A very determined recovery crew :) Not a bad flight given the wind :)

This was Lindsey's first time out. She was the acolyte at the wedding I did right after the launch. Now she wants to build one!;)

Just flown the 13mm Helix's bigger brother - the 18mm Helix, great flights, got to get the 13mm and 24mm.
Nice video

I ahve the whole family, single and double, built in 13 and 18mm. The 24s are still sitting in the packaging.

The 18mm Double is really cool when it reverses direction and starts to autorotate down.
